Perfect! I just did this before watching your video.. I got it from my Traxxas Rustler 4x4 vxl!
Good one Matt! Never really paid much attention to the steering setup, but now you got me thinking and running to my workshop to do some mods!!! LOL
rc dan Haha! glad I could help! :)
Great info Matt. That will for sure help out people. Thumbs up bro!
Ya good demo!
That's a GREAT idea! I've got a way cheaper Rig, same problem. I'm going to try the Traxxas ball links.
I know this videos quite old now but CVDs are a huge plus for the steering, tighter turning circle and no binding or juddering from the dog bone and the cup.
Great tip Matt.
Neomax25 You welcome!
Oh thanks for the info man! I use to have a really bad slop in the front tires due to the bearings and probably of the plastic pivot balls too. I changed the bearings to Boca bearings kit for 21$ which works better than the stock ones, because the stock ones feel like they have a little gap. I think I'm gonna upgrade the pivots too
NSR Entertainment Channel That sounds like a perfect plan! and your welcome! hope you get your steering all nice an tight after its all done! ;)
nice tips matt have fun rcing
Budget Guy RC Thanks you buddy same to you!

devolutiondav Thompson Thank you! its pretty cool how well it works too!

Brendan Kinshella I try to find those little tricks out as often as I can buddy. Sometimes its not that easy... but glad you liked it!
I love your face at the end of the vid!! LOL
Cooldibs Hahaha Yea it was perfect timing when I did that. so I figure what better way to end a video than with a laugh! ;)
hey agin I was going to say thanks for the help my little steering link that hooks to servo has a ring that helps hold the ball joint thing in that ring has came out wouldn't let it turn
great tip !
+240rocket Thanks!
your videos are awesome.what would be a good affordable first-time rc nitro truggy i have been looking and researching so many can you give me some ideas.i really want to get into the hobby.thank you for the videos and upgrade tips
Ya'll hear the sound the rig made when the wheel was moved(@5:10) if my honcho is no longer making that sound mean the servo is bad??
Bro where are you? U ok?
Thanks for the info man, just finishing my axial rubicon build !! Like your bumper . What front bumper is that? Thanks for great and informative video!
+Noah Schechtel You very welcome and that bumper is the RC4WD Rampage Front bumper. its certainly a beast!
thanks again!!!
I like your show
+Matthew Barnhart Thanks matt I appreciate it!
These also work on the Axle Wraith too! 😉
A good idea for all RCs, not just Axle!
I did go crawling today hit a lot of stuff even a creek but anyway my steering won't turn left but will right then it keeps jerking little help please lol if I could send you a vid I would but not sure how lol
Hmm,I bought the axial link kit and it came with metal pivots,no need for traxxas parts. No play in it either.
+Powerpickle68 Awesome! Looks like they have improved on it! Thanks for letting me know!
balljoints?
Nice drive shafts, where can I get some of those?
+fourbypete RC4WD.com they are the punisher shafts
+RC Overload cool, that's next on my list.
I need your help!!! I just upgraded my links to aluminum. Now when I turn hard left or right the front end shakes. It's only at high speed and with hard turns. Any thoughts? Great videos by the way!!!
+Michael Christopher Double check to make sure everything is tight. otherwise without seeing it first hand its hard to say.
Groundbreaking dude. You clearly have entirely too much time on our hands.
Groundbreaking ? He flipped a damned screw and added a supplied spacer.
More like following directions ....oh and flipping a screw.
What is the part no. for those Traxxas pivot balls?
Look in the description
does the savox give a tighter turn radius. ..stear sharper? or the links help at all?
+Robert Heuer This one is waterproof and has more torque. making it easier to move the wheels over objects
RC Overload hey Matt is this Servo you have a drop in without modification or does it require modification?
I have a question, How have the medal pivot balls held up in the rod ends? I was going to follow your recommendation however I was convinced not to. I was told that the axial plastic is much weaker then the the Traxxas plastic so the metal pivot balls will wear out the rod ends eventually creating extra space causing wiggle or the same problem you solved to begin with. When I heard this I did not make the move however I cant stop thinking about it, how has your set yup held up over time?I would rather trust someone who has actually knows form experience and not rumors? Have you had any problems with the rod ends that the pivot balls fit in?
Best Regards
Hey Joel, so far i can say that over a year of use those pivot balls have not worn out at all. They were very tight to begin with but i will admit over a period of a few runs they did loosens up to were they swivel freely. however theirs no "play" in them from wereing out the pivot ball ends" hopefully this helps!
+RC Overload Thank you, I'm switching them out. I hope you have a great day.
awesome man! same to you!
you do know there is a "i" in axial right? lol one of my pet peves
Brendan Granger Yes I know for the longest time I honestly didn't realize I was pronouncing it wrong. Haha..But not to worry in my newer videos I do correct myself.
hey I just up graded my steering link and my c hubs on my scx10 power wagon but it turnes sharper to the right then it does to the left what did I do or is that just the way it is.
+Jacob Tolbert check to make sure your servo is centered then make sure non of your links are broken and the steering isnt binding
+RC Overload. K ill do thanks
RC You mention the steel balls on the steering but where can you get this whole hook up screws spacers and ball joint a as you said in the video. Gary glofgren@delrealfoods.com. Also what do you suggest as steering servo upgrade..... thanks
axial sucks my redcayts are always tight
AX eeeeeeeee al not Axel.
+Matthew Barnhart Haha Yes I know in the very beginning of my show I know I wasn't pronouncing axial correctly. but I have corrected it since.
