For future reference and for anyone else thinking of coming to Hawai’i - our islands have a Windward and Leeward side depending on what side of the mountain range you are on - northern is Windward and tends to rain daily - but Leeward is usually sunny and nice - hence the drastic change in weather you experienced - so when planning for hikes it’s best to hike on the Leeward side of the island - so Hawai’i Kai, Kaena Point, etc are the best places imo - but I’m glad you guys tried a bunch of local food and still enjoyed your time 🤗
