Great vid Chris! I had a questions for band rigging for double rollers! Do you still use the 1/2 barrel + 5 for making both bands or would you use another method. Thanks
Jedidiah, It does get a little more complex / flexible With the two 14mm rubbers you have enough power to make the rubbers half barrel +10cm or even +15cm in some cases. This allows you to easily hand load. You can stick to the +5 if you want max power
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing thanks Chris! I currently have 16M basic neptonic rubber. Would half barrel + 5 with 2x16mil bands be too overkill? I would be shooting wahoo And yellowfin from 10kg to 60kg with 8mil shaft. Thanks again this is super helpful.
Hey Chris, considering a 130 size gun could you achieve a double roller with hand loadable 14s or 16s that has similar power and range to one of your single roller load assisted 18mm set ups detailed in your article? Cheers
@@clementcornaille5167 mate i would stay off the 18 mm in rollers. A single roller 16 mm set up correctly will easily match a 18 mm roller especially if you stretch your bands to the same total load.
@@NorthernBorderBoys i never have but because I have studied rubbers in physics, I can calculate the energy that the spear would get. Rather than using 18mm I would say, use 16mm but just stretch them a bit more. The rubbers will get used a bit quicker though. To put it into perspective, if you want more power, you can get the same pull in kg with a 16mm rubber but that would mean you would have more preload with the 16mm. Also you would get a smother shot.
That was a revelation - grab with left hand and push with right hand. Makes much more sense!
That is a beast...What is this speargun created for? Tuna? Marlin?
Much needed video on loading a double roller. Thank you
How much power does that thing have!! Seems like it would be more than enough for anything!
You broke the first law :)
Would a stock RA Tuna aluminum barrel and trigger mechanism be strong enough for your double roller system with 14 mm bands?
It should
Pablo, The mech and barrel are more than strong enough. I do prefer the carbon tho. It makes the gun better balanced in the water.
Hi buddy.. I'm sorry if I disturb you.. I want to ask where can I get a roller gun? I want to upgrade my speargun.. Can anyone help me?
drop me an email at saltydiver@gmail.com
Great job 👏

@@CoatesmansSpearfishing I have a 130 double roller btw.
@@jedidiahakao345 Start with +10cm with 16mm / 8mm shaft combo.👍

On a longer gun like a 1300 hand loading is difficult and becomes somewhat ineffective, even with 14s. Better to make life easy with a load assist.
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing any power comparaison between double roller with 16mm and single roller with 18mm ?

Hello, if you dont mind what's the formula of measuring the bands thx
half barrel + 5cm 👌
@@CoatesmansSpearfishing thx for the quick response 🤙
Is this setup for full pretention?!!!
Always go pretension. Watch the first 2 videos in the Unrolling the roller series.

Why "Coatesman Double Roller CDR V1.2 " is now discontinued ?
Very nice Chris
Sickkkkk !!!!!
Can you run 16mm or 18mm rubber on these bad boys
18 mm in a roller is a bad set up.
@@aldogjipali2835 have you tried it ? And what was your results ?

Thanks for the reply and explanation 👍
where can u buy
Will single 14s work on a 130 roller well?
In EU we us 16mm on bigger rollers
awesome!
All that trouble for what. A single roller with one booster band can take any fish out there including tunas..
