Thank you! I'm from Clarksburg, West Virginia. We got cable TV in 1972 in my little hometown and it came in from Pittsburgh. That's when I became a Steeler's fan at age 12. Steelers, Pirates and Penguins are West Virginia's home teams. I grew up watching KDKA, WTAE and WIIC and Chiller Theater, Mr.Rogers and Paul Shannon. Rode the Thunderbolt and made my first trip to 3 Rivers Stadium in 1974 and also rode my first incline and visited the Pittsburgh Zoo that year. I love me some Pittsburgh,PA! Jack Fleming and Myron Cope are sadly missed nowadays in this age of commercialism and political correctness. So is Bill Cardill. I saw many great wrestling matches and rock concerts at the Civic Arena and the Syria Mosque. Also, WDVE, the best long play rock radio station ever back in the 70's! Thank you Pittsburgh and thank you Yinzburgh for this channel and for sharing with us. I am subbed! Let's go bowling for dollars and see what the NOSMO KING is up to!!! LOL
Hillcapper1 Hey there good neighbor! Great to hear from you. Yea it was pretty darn good growing up in North Central West Virginia. We made lots of trips to Morgantown also. Saw many Mountaineer games at the old snake pit and was there in 75 for the game winning FG against Pitt. Great memories. I hope you’re happy and healthy my friend. God bless! 🙏🏻❤️✌🏻🎸
Man, does that bring back some great memories! I was just a kid, but I remember the first 2 Super Bowls against Dallas & the last 1 against the Rams! Steelers have been my team ever since!
I wore Franco's number jersey from 1979 to 1983. I out-grew it, but just like the Steelers of this 1970's era, it never faded, and never wore-out. I wish I kept it and framed it, it was really that tuff.
@@ryanhenson609 Yeah, Cowher's men had passion, then they all retired. Tomlin let the lockeroom get away from him giving the primadonnas on the team free reign. Glad Khan's trying to clean up the mess that's been slop for years now.
Yea, blah blah blah. Okay bub. Cowher went 8-8 with the same squad Tomlin went 11-5 with and then won it all the next year. The "Cowher's" players bullshit is a dog whistle and I think we know for what. I'm done talking to you. Lmao. That Tomlin SB team was passioned and gave us two of the best plays in SB history, the Harrison INT and the Big Ben to Holmes throw. Sit down.
These are the guys that paved the way for these arrogant young players of today. They need to let those hits be back in today's football games. I guarantee it'll teach these young punks some respect they couldn't handle it believe me
Dale dyer The steelers biggest player was mean Joe Greene at 275 lbs. ALABAMA HAS 30 GUYS OVER 300. A COLLEGE TEAM. The steelers would do jackshit in the current NFL. Get tf out of here.
Great vid as always but quick que...About halfway through the vid it starts showing some interviews w/Greene & Knoll & other players. Where did u get those clips from because I'd really like to see that vid. Thank ya. 😉👍👍✌
I'm a Florida native but my loyal at that time was with the black&gold. Then in 1976 the Tampa Bay Bucs came and being a Florida native I which to a Florida team only made sense 🤔
Terah Bradshaw was a turrible quarterback. He had Swan and Stallworth, not to mention the greatest O-line in history. Then add Franco Harris and Rocky Blier to the mix. A 3 legged dog coulda played quarterback fer that team.
@badger519 Coach Noll knew Terah was bad. That's why Terah always says he and Coach couldn't "get along". Coach Noll seen that tops of all time defense, best O-line in history (with Franca Harris plowing ahind it), Swan and Stallworth. And then he seen Terah. Terah was a big problem for Coach Noll. But, Coach Noll overcame it. Most overrated QB in the history of the NFL. And I'm a die hard Steeler fan who was at the stadium when they introduced the terrible towel in '75. Still got that original towel. Going to be buried with it.
@badger519 Don't fergit the Dolphins too. But, ole Terah rode on the shoulders of the phenomenal O-line, receivers, running backs, and, most importantly, Steel Curtain defense to win those championships. If ole Terah hadda played fer near any other team of that era, nobody would know who he is today.
This is such a nostalgia video. Even the music is perfect
i appreciate it, I’m happy you enjoyed it!
A great tribute to the Steelers- thank you!

Scott Riggleman we’re close to the same age and I’m from Morgantown. My story is similar as is many others I suspect.
