I live in the U.S.A. & was born here (1st generation) but my Mom is from Poland & we followed some Polish traditions for Christmas. 1st Tradition - We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve (24th). When the 1st star appears in the night sky on Christmas Eve, dinner begins. We set an extra plate/table setting as a tradition so that if someone who is hungry/alone passes by the home, they're invited to join at extra table setting. Also, Christmas Eve dinner begins with breaking wafers with family & friends at the dinner table while sharing best wishes while breaking each other's wafers. Then you eat. Then you go to evening mass at Xhurch & when you get home from Christmas Eve mass, you open presents that night. Christmas Day (25th) is more of the chill/recovery day.
This was a sweet video. A baby's 1st Christmas is so special. The baby won't remember of course but its for mom and dad. Neo looked like a tiny elf in his little outfit ❤❤. The venue was amazing!!!
We opened all our presents Christmas Eve and then Christmas Day we woke up and Santa had filled our stockings with treats and presents and there was one Santa present under the tree.
THey are the BEST videos, every day, pure, and loving, and thats what they should be, represent your days, unique, organic and gorgeous, keep being you, never change anything, I LOVE SO MUCH your VLOGMASS, its my favorite Advent Calendar!
For the stockings I did exactly what you did louis but just lots of different bits and bobs in handmade stockings with chocolate in in and just not wrapped up just put in there
Guys, We really appreciate the effort you are putting in to giving us a daily video, particularly with a little one in tow. It cant be easy. My son will be 24 years old this new year eve and I really miss all the innocent childhood magic Christmases of the years gone by. So I'm living vicariously though your vlogmas.🎉
Thank you so so much! I’m so grateful we will have these videos to watch back for years to come. I know it’ll feel like we blink and he’ll be all grown up 😭
In Poland we do not have stocking at all! But we get presents on 6th of December (as well as Christmas), it's called Santa's day (loosely translated), and you wake up to a more modest, simple present by your bed in the morning. It is is also the day during which we would have Secret Santa in school and exchange presents with classmates! Also, Christmas Eve is our main dinner day and often you get presents this evening instead of the Christmas morning, but this varies a lot.
This has become my nighttime routine and I’m enjoying it! Neo is so blessed to have parents like you all. Giving experiences no matter the age is great.
Stockings, without question have always been our favorite part. We would have wrapped gifts under the tree leading up to Christmas and empty stockings hanging. While we slept on Christmas Eve, Santa would come and leave our most desired gift, unwrapped, under the tree and would fill our stockings with unwrapped little gifts and treats. It was and continues to be magical.
Christmas stockings are the best. The feel and rustle of a stocking on your bed as you wake up was (is) the best. In our family Father Christmas was the one who brought it, and it always had small gifts (fortune telling fish and that odd smelling balloon putty were a given!), sweets and a satsuma in the toe.We did write letters to Father Christmas, posted into the stove on Christmas eve wishing him and the reindeers a safe flight and to ask if he would prefer a beer or milk left out! This also meant we didn’t write a huge list of toys etc that we expected Father Christmas to be able to magically leave. We got a main present each from our folks, but no huge list of demands. I know lots of parents these days who let their kids write a huge list and then really struggle to afford to buy them.
My stocking experience as a kid was just like Louis (except they were the normal stockings you see in the shops) and we would always wake up anywhere between 3 and 6am.
I think your little family is SO sweet and I can't express enough how much more I prefer your vlogmas style of uploads where your personalities shine through. It gives us, the viewer, a feeling of communicating with old friends vs watching a polished program. Thank you for these little glimpses into your life. Love to all three of you
I love hearing your Christmas traditions! We have always put cookies and milk out for Santa, but we also throw carrots out in the yard for the reindeer. Somehow they were gone in the morning!
I love the little Santa place you went. That is special. I just loved pulling my family traditions in with my husband's to create our own for our kids. I know, of course, we had a baby's first Christmas ornament for each of our kids and now that they are older each year we go together and pick out an ornament together for that year. No matter what it is we write the year on the bottom and it's so much fun to put them on the tree and remember them all. I think Christmas is so special seeing it through our children's eyes.
Thank you so much you're doing a great job, you make me smile so much, Louis being the sweetest Dad and Raya a lovely mummy, baby Neo is just too cute for words xxx
As a newer grandparent we make an ornament each year with a picture of us with our grandchild. That way as they grow up they have a photo of that year with us.
I am enjoying your Vlogmas so much I am going to miss seeing you every day after Christmas. Watching Neo is a delight, but I honestly think Louis is enjoying it more than Neo!
Love that you want to have lots of fun Christmas traditions for your family. ❤ Christmas was more simple when I was little than it is now. We each had a stocking which we could go in the living room (by the tree), get and take back to bed to see what little gifts were in them. It was so magical to see the tree, presents and what Santa brought in the quiet early morning! When I was older, I hid a tape recorder near the tree and turned it on when we were opening presents. It is so sweet to listen now to the little voices of children that have since grown up, and parents and grandparents who have since passed on. We always had a bowl of mixed nuts in the shell and a nutcracker on the table, and also a puzzle in progress. There was a lot of good conversation over those two things. Later on, we had a picnic basket full of Christmasy treats from around the world. At night when it was quiet, we would sit in the softly lit kitchen, have a cup of tea and something from the basket. Again, good conversation happened. Snowmen, carolers, ice skating, family visiting, so many fun things. ❤ Have a wonderful holiday!
We do a family advent. Starting Dec 1, each day is either a gift, quality time, or adventure. The gifts are usually “needs” (socks, toiletries, candy), quality time is movies, making cookies/candies, building gingerbread houses or getting ornaments, and adventures are going to see lights, parades, volunteering, the nutcracker ballet….it brings a little joy every day.
I think Neo is the cutest little elf I've ever seen! For his age he is totally enjoying it. Seems to be checking everything out...Merry Christmas Neo 🎅🎄🤶❤️
REALLY LOVING THIS VLOGMAS. Like a lot! Thank you for all the effort you’re putting into the vlogs. Really giving me something to look forward to at a particularly stressful time for me right now so thank you!
My parents worked shift work and I was an only child. So, my parents always got me a huge stocking filled with some Christmas cookies/candies, small little presents like Barbie clothes/accessories, art supplies, play makeup, and there was always some small piece of jewelry (i.e. when I was little it was stud earrings, then all different kinds of jewelry as I got older), and usually a puzzle. So my parents would put the stocking on my bed during the night whenever they set up for Santa by the tree. So when I woke up, I opened my stocking and played with it in my room until they woke up. Funny thing, there where many Christmas’s they woke me up, but, if I woke up first they were always up very quickly. Like even as a teen I think we were always up and opening presents by 7 or 730. Then when all opened a new pair of jammies, put them on, and headed to the tree to open the bigger Christmas gifts and see what Santa brought. It allowed both my parents to get some sleep but also both of them to be awake and having fun with me as I opened presents. It was perfect for our family and I carried on the tradition with my children (now grown and they loved it). In fact they both plan to do the same with their kids because even if they were only awake 10-15 minutes…opening their stockings together, they were anticipating what was under the tree and having fun.
I have enjoyed all your days of Vlogmas but this is my favorite!!! Neo was so aware of everything around him, he is so darn cute. I love the way Britain and Europe celebrate Christmas, it is so different here in the states. Looking forward to the next segment. Merry Christmas to a beautiful family🎄🎄🎄
My Mom passed away Monday and I’m heartbroken 💔 but your videos are making it a little easier, they make me smile and remind me of happy times. Thank you 😊
Our Christmas stockings were hung on the mantelpiece and on Christmas morning, the children were allowed to tiptoe into the living room and bring them back to bed. 'There were little presents, chocolate, a tangerine and always a book, which we would read until our parents were ready to get up. They had often been up late assembling our gifts, so they needed more sleep in the morning.
Traditions, definitely stockings and Christmas eve box. We always have a parent go into the living room first to see if Father Christmas had been xx I still have to do this, my children have both left home and are 26 and 28 😂😂😂😂
In the United States, my family's Christmas stocking tradition is that each child and pet gets a stocking hung over the fireplace mantle. These are up as part of the monthlong Christmas decorations. Then on Christmas morning, we find the stockings are full of little presents, like Louis said, laying on the ground in front of the fireplace (because it'd be dangerous to be hanging while full of presents). The advantage of putting stockings by the fireplace is that you as parents can better control when the kids discover them and already have your video camera out. Whereas if you leave stockings in the kids' rooms, I imagine that is harder to pull off as they get older and you'd miss the initial happy reaction when they wake up to discover Santa came.
We did the opening of stockings on the parent's bed too. It was one of my dad's socks 😊 with a satsuma in the toe, and yes, feeling it at the bottom of the bed was special
Our Christmas tradition is that every year, since birth, we have bought our children a special deooration for the tree. We have 3 kids 😊 and each year it's a different theme ( so each decoration is slightly different but a theme evident). Each has a large wooden box that I put their decorations inside with the idea that when they left home, they would take their decorations with them. The funny thing is, they are now adults and they still LOVE getting a new decoration each Christmas to place on our tree , plus now their partners also get a decoration 🙂 and they love it too. . I write or hand paint their name and year on the decoration also as over time you forget who got what LOL.
Growing up in Denmark, we got our presents on the December 24. We just had to wait, all the way until after dinner and dessert. We did have a Christmas calendar where we got a little presentment every day. So for my kids I have done an advents kalender for them so they get a thing they need every weekend. Then for the 24. we made the tradition that they will get a present during the day, to take the edge off the waiting. We would eat early so the evening was not too long. We dance around the Christmas tree and sing, then we have presents, and then dessert. That is the traditions we made living outside Denmark with our kids. It is fun to take of old traditions and make new ones.
I'm from the NW in Oregon and we had the stocking had hanging on the fireplace and they were filled with mixed with useful things and candy. We would open them first before presents.
We always have an orange, m and ms and a toothbrush in our Christmas stocking. Plus on Christmas Eve the kids get a book and pajamas to open on Christmas Eve.
A tradition with my kids is always buying them their own ornament every year, so we they are grown they have a start on Christmas ornaments of their own.
Louis, Raya, it has been lovely watching both of you enjoying Neo so much. Louis, I’ve been following you for years, and each episode I burst into laughter seeing you exhausted and loving home time. It’s awesome to see both of you as parents. Neo is the best! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
SO much love for you! What a wondeful family. ❤ I've followed you both for soooo many years. I remember how I was watching your videos every evening. Daydreaming about living like you both did. And now I am on the brink of hitting 10K subscribers!!! You still are such a HUGE inspiration for me. You're so full of love. And now being amazing parents to little Neo. Warms my heart. Hope we'll meet one day in UK, Poland (my home...) or anywhere else on this magnificent planet ✨️❤️
Neo absolutely adorable in the elf outfit! So much fun watching him look at all the Christmas things at the Christmas experience! Love the pictures with Father Christmas ❤❤❤❤
Neo dressed as a Christmas elf is *everything!!* Maybe for the stockings they could be Louis tradition but made in the folk art style of Romania for Raya. I love that you both are thinking about traditions now for Neo & future child(ren). As an older person, looking back on the few family traditions we had feels my heart with joy & reminds me of the deep love I feel for my family. You are developing Neo’s foundation at the perfect age. He is so well socialized for his age. He is accepting of new things with curiosity rather than fear. You two are doing parenthood right!!👊🏼
I am Australian - from Irish and British stock. Our Christmas is during summer down here... so this little addition to our Christmas stocking/pillowcase was not as special......... but back in the day in the Northern Hemisphere an ORANGE was a very important part of the stocking/pillowcase.
We always do new pajamas on Christmas eve. For stockings they are grilled eith food like chocolate, chips, crackers and smaller little presents. We open them after we have opened our presents.
It is no wonder that you are getting burnt out! It is a lot of work filming and editing these videos every day! How much of this tradition will you renew next year? It is fun seeing you see Christmas through Neo's eyes, but next year it will be even better! Neo is the cutest elf ever! Have you seen or contacted Amiee and Craig of kinging it? They were at the London Christmas Market and have been excited about starting to renovate their first home!
Loved rewatching this with the correction of the 'day' - I was confused so I can imagine y'all were too! I'm here for all the Vlogmas so rewatching is a great thing!
Such a cute little video! Christmas traditions wise with our eldest she gets a christmas eve box and it always had pjs and a new board game for us to play on christmas eve and now we have a second we have started that the kids pick out a new ornament each year 😊😊
Loved loved Neo's little elf outfit. Adorable. We had stockings on end of our bed to wake up to, one of dads big socks. Always had an orange in the bottom and filled with chocolates toys and sometimes main gift if it was small. Always the best to open. The Christmas place you went to I really enjoyed and I am living Christmas thru Neo's reactions. Just beautiful.
Its been really heartwarming to see you two blossom into such amazing parents and relishing in your lovely little family. Neo is one lucky and loved little guy. Daily vlogging is the best Christmas gift you could give us as viewers. Thank You
Another great video! Both of your love and compassion for others and life in general are the draw! I just always trip on how Neo looks exactly like a cross between you two. And he's happy too! The one Christmas tradition our family has that I love is that we have chili! Then, no one is cooking for hours, and everyone can just ladle up when hungry. Even in my 20s a lot of my friends ended up at my folks' house dishing up a bowl of chili and joining us for games.
I love that Louis is clearly enjoying himself. Like a kid himself, so sweet.
Haha definitely! He loves it 😍
Neo is always so happy and curious. Such a cutie!
Ah thank you!
I bought a special ornament for my kids each year. Something that told the story of something significant that year.
Don't recall hearing about the lost nappy bag, just the bag Louis left at a pub?
I live in the U.S.A. & was born here (1st generation) but my Mom is from Poland & we followed some Polish traditions for Christmas.

Neo, looked absolutely adorable in his elf outfit! How appropriate for his visit with Santa. How cute can one kid be?!
This was a sweet video. A baby's 1st Christmas is so special. The baby won't remember of course but its for mom and dad. Neo looked like a tiny elf in his little outfit ❤❤. The venue was amazing!!!

10:30 I can't with neo's tongue! I died of cuteness overload. #1 baby in the internet for sure
Don't think I heard about the changing bag

Best outfit yet!!! The "black shoes"and his pants.. he is the best elf ever

Neo is such a great sport…….both my children screamed like crazy when we took them to see Santa……still have the pics 20 yrs on. 😂❤❤❤❤
We always have an Apple, orange, nuts and chocolate coins in the bottom of our stockings 😊
Your fireplace mantle looks amazing! Great decorating style!
I started rewatching GLEE. LOVE.
I love your intro so much! I laugh every time Louis opens the latest door of his advent calendar, but is so dissapointed.
Haha I know I have no idea what he’s expecting 😂
As a newer grandparent we make an ornament each year with a picture of us with our grandchild. That way as they grow up they have a photo of that year with us.
That’s so sweet!
We love to walk around our town on Christmas Eve to see all the lights and decorations.
Hi unless I missed it you didn't say you lost nappy bag. Merry Xmas
Oh good to know, we’ll tell the story then because it’s hilarious 🙈

I am enjoying your Vlogmas so much I am going to miss seeing you every day after Christmas. Watching Neo is a delight, but I honestly think Louis is enjoying it more than Neo!
Aw thank you so much ❤️ Haha yeah Louis is loving if!
Neo’s little elf outfit is quite possibly one of the cutest outfits I’ve ever seen! Loving the vlogs, guys.
Louis is having a ball and is living his second childhood in these vlogs! ❤ So fun to watch. Look forward to each new vlog.
Do you watch great British bake off? My daughter and I watch together and we are obsessed!
Love that you want to have lots of fun Christmas traditions for your family. ❤

Neo was great meeting Father Christmas. When my eldest son met him he burst into tears.
This was beyond adorable aww!! Also you haven't told us the story about losing the "nappy bag" in London! I would love to hear it please!! :)
I, too, want to hear the story.
We always had a large orange and apple in our stocking.

So adorable! Love Neo’s elf outfit. It was so cute with his little tongue in the Narnia tent. Have a great Christmas little happy elf. ❤

It really sounds so special!
Haha we used my dads socks, ours always had nuts, a piece of fruit, 50p and a present. Xx

We’ve started the Christmas Eve box, pjs Christmas book and baking kit! Elf on the shelf! Father’s Christmas visit!

Louis is having the time of his life! Thank you for sharing this with us. Neo is the cutest little elf 💙🎄 Merry Christmas, Raya, Louis, and Neo! 🎅

I love this! Definitely want to do it ❤️
Oh what beautiful memory to have with the baby! I love how Santa called him popit when you left seeing him!!
Thank you, loving your vlogs and appreciate all the time, energy and creativity taking us along on your adventures with Neo!
Neo's eyes just melt my heart. He is just so inquisitive, taking all the world in. ❤😊
Our advent calendar is definitely a sweet tradition also stockings are a highlight.

Thank you so much for the continued support ❤️ and congratulations!! Keep doing what you love! ☺️
You two are doing parenthood right!!👊🏼
Your mantel is beautiful and I love that the greenery came from your yard 😊
We had the same tradition with the stockings as louis, such a great memory,,,,,
That recipe looks AMAZING 😊 Definitely going to try making that this week
Love his little Elf outfit and Louie nice jumper too. Raya beautiful as always 💖
This is the best seeing yall experience Christmas with the little one
We had found those glasses 20 years ago in Texas and I haven't seen them sold since
Such a cute little video! Christmas traditions wise with our eldest she gets a christmas eve box and it always had pjs and a new board game for us to play on christmas eve and now we have a second we have started that the kids pick out a new ornament each year 😊😊
Good morning, Neolithic had the most beautifully expressive face
Loved loved Neo's little elf outfit. Adorable.
We had stockings on end of our bed to wake up to, one of dads big socks. Always had an orange in the bottom and filled with chocolates toys and sometimes main gift if it was small. Always the best to open. The Christmas place you went to I really enjoyed and I am living Christmas thru Neo's reactions. Just beautiful.
Neo is the cutest Santa’s little 🧝 ever 🥰!!
Its been really heartwarming to see you two blossom into such amazing parents and relishing in your lovely little family. Neo is one lucky and loved little guy. Daily vlogging is the best Christmas gift you could give us as viewers. Thank You
I loved this video. Neo looked so dapper in his elf clothes. Everyone had an amazing time. Happy 1st Christmas Neo🎅
This was sooooo cool! Loved the glasses in the elf forest: thank you for sharing your adventures. Neo is just the cutest little elf.💙
Thank you! Haha agree he is 😍
