Granted this song comes 4 years after Mass Effect 2, but this song is the perfect song to play once the credits start. If the games do end up as movies, this song must play at the end of ME2. The beginning of the chorus is perfectly symbolic of the last scene in the game.

personally i think your reading way too far into it. alot of times songs like this are alot easier to explain than many people make them out to be.
