I've watch many of your videos for info on swapping an LS into my '68 C10. But just last weekend I had picked up a '76 C10 short wheel base, so it's looking like that my 2001 suburban engine and other need parts are going into it instead. This will give me more time to prep my '68, such as front disc conversion, rocker and cab corners repair, and other fun stuff.

I'd like to have a 6 speed auto someday, but otherwise, I don't really foresee needing to ever change it again
The best part it looks rough but drives like a dream. I would installed the bumper and the dash vents make it complete. Not ever painted because thats your signature masterpiece
I'm definitely never, ever paying for a bumper for this thing lol

I’m on the home stretch of getting my 84 d150 going with a 5.3/4l60. Did my old 81 c10 back in 2017 and it hit the road good. People want to over think ls swapping their vehicles. I’ve found in an old truck even the stock 5.3s do great, still way more than the trucks ever came with factory and the reliability is crazy as long as the swap wasn’t done majorly shotty.

Mainly because of Facebook groups, everybody’s an expert and you’ve got to have this or that or it’s “not a quality build” the groups do help but it also leads a lot of folks who just want a cruiser down the roads they don’t have any business going down. Just get the thing running then you can build or upgrade this or that. They’ll spend years trying to get the “perfect” build and get discouraged and it’ll end up on marketplace for pennies on the dollar. Happened to me before and seen it happen to many others.

Off idle was "switchy" on mine and I just cleaned throttle body and messaged the radius on both sides just for experiment and freaking cured the switchy shit with relearn ran now it's like a faucet

I’m curious about a couple points that maybe you covered previously. You mentioned a particular cam but I’m wondering what the specs are. The other thing is throttle sensitivity. Can you tune the DBW slope to be less sensitive at tiny amounts of throttle? I’m in the middle of my project, got lucky and scored an LY6 and 6L90. I was hoping to get it to run this year but didn’t make it. I’m still sorting out parts to finish converting the trans from 4WD to a slip yoke. Your work is a great inspiration, thanks!
You can do a bunch of stuff in the tune to desensitize the throttle, it's not a big enough bother to me to drag out my laptop and fix it though

When you did a video a while back of you installing all the matting heat shielding and sound foam it was really quiet when you drove it it seams a like the before test is that because of the doors ? Or did you change something else nice work
Yeah the vents are worse than before, it's way more air noise inside, this winter I really need to get the right doors squared away and reinstalled.
These have been funny, but it's time for them to go to the scrap heap

Did you tune it yourself and if so I just did a cam swap and long tubes and need a tune I don't live very far from you I'd throw you a few bucks if you could get it dialed in for me and definitely have a couple beers

Yes they do, use a cluster from a 90-91 K5 or Suburban.
