Jack's Coho Deck View--Newport, OR, 9-1-24

Jack lands the first fish on opening day of non-select Coho! The bite was...intermittent until 9am then *gone*. That's just what happens some days. Sounded like a few boats limited out early by staying between the jetty and the lighthouse, fishing in about 160 feet of water. We wasted an hour of the good bite by running out to north Stonewall (in hopes of double-dipping for Halibut), but it sounds like the fish we landed and fought were a lot bigger than the keepers retained near shore.
