    Who directed these? If you are going to hand someone a 5 string bass, maybe they should use the B at some point.

      I was looking for him to use that B string as well. Never happened. I'm pretty much sold anyway. I'm getting the 734

      A 3 minute demo with max 5 secs of B. Sad.

      It's like 80% of bassists are afraid to pluck the B string.

      @kevinhobbs125 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I literally prefer five strings just to use the b string as nice place to end a strum. I mean I ofc use the b string, but the reason I'm so attached is that consistency to hit the side of the string on a strum unless it's a low note when it doesn't matter.

    Is this bass better than a Mexican Fender bass? I've heard good things about the Yamaha BB series, but I can't afford the made in Japan basses. Do you think the ones in this price range (700-800 dollars/euros) are better than Fenders? Thanks

    • @lukasjonah997

      What makes Fender's price so expensive is the brand!

      I have this bass for 9 months and a fender mim for 7 years. Companions: The bb735 is superior in features, tones, playability and build quality. Light and comfortable to play for hours. I think this bass represents the best characteristics of music man and fenders and amplifies them with details like string through body bridge, passive/active switch, 3 band EQ, battery light and the 6 bolt 45 degree miter joint. Fenders are still cool basses but this yamaha is such a work horse with killer looks as well as high quality gig bag for $750 usd.

    Hope this doesn't come with the same crappy preamp the 614/615 come with, it distorts as soon as you solo the neck PU or go too far boosting any EQ band. BTW, that can be solved by feeding it 18V, have done it on my BB615. BTW, I got the previous gen. 615 (single piece maple neck) after miserably failing at trying to like a BB425X because of playability. That 5 piece neck was horrible, too D shaped, uncomfortable, the 615's is much slimmer and fast. Hope you've gone back to a slimmer neck profile on these ones.

    • @soundman1402
      @soundman1402 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never distorted the preamp on mine, even with an extreme boost to the low EQ. As for playability, the neck profile feels great to my hands; about as slim as you can hope for with a 5-string. (I have a Sandberg 4-string that has the fastest neck I've ever played on a bass.) My only gripe with the neck is that it's painted with a matte black paint that will eventually become shiny with use; I don't like a glossy neck as my hands tend to stick to it. I may see about scuffing that shiny paint to make it matte again.

    YAMAHA Please invent an amplifier that provides electric power to bass or guitar with active microphones/pickups

      Yeah, it sounds like a hollow tube. Also, he's playing so lightly that the noise of his fingers brushing the strings and the noise from his fretting hand just start to get in the way.

      D'addario XL, .45-.125 (I think) I use Stringjoy Nickelwounds on mine. Best combo of deep thunder and piano mids and highs in my opinion! I use a THICK B string (.135). This bass is amazing.

      Around 800$ but because it's with rosewood fretboard ,there might be a problem from the retailers to ship it because of CITES restrictions.Its pity.I really wanna get the 734A in matte trans black.Thats the one.

      D'Addario XL .45-.130 I believe. I use StringJoy Nickelwound on mine, .45-.135 (equal tension gauges). Authoritative rumble, with nice piano highs.
