I have trued using barroque fingering and it sounds really bad

So most of the things the same as a recorder but some things are easier

Yes Jessey. In terms of note placement.
Once you learn how to blow air into the instrument, it works. But there is a learning curve to avoid getting squeaks.
The recorder works best with key C or G but the venovas are meant to be chromatic (work in all keys). Currently, it does not work as well as it should but hopefully the newer ones will be better.

The G# is not so different from the A :/

Yeah. The chromatic scale is not as clean on this fingering set of the venova. You really have to use your embouchure to bend the notes
