This is excellent. Having an engineering expert dig into these issues is indispensable. Politicians and government employees are lying to cover up their incompetence and malfeasance. NEWS media needs to rely on engineers and scientists.

CH's 10 and 12 are lapdogs and mouthpieces for RI government, they blindly accept whatever BS is handed to them by officials. Look at her lack of response to Alviti basically saying that "it's normal" after this interview .. BULLS*IT !!

Been watching Casey Jones for a good year now the insights he provides are very informative and in-depth. Impressed with the quality of this interview, well done WJAR.

Definitely worth checking his YT channel for more in-depth analysis of this bridge fiasco. m.youtube.com/@CaseyJones-Engineer

I watched your earlier video along these lines this afternoon so understanding this interview was a breeze. Really enjoying these free "classes". Thank you.

Longish video, but well worth watching for those who regularly use the bridge or just curious about the situation. And raises questions about other bridges that may be in worse shape than RIDOT is saying.

Excellent interview. My impression is the Rhode Island DOT should be investigated by federal agencies who don't have a dog in the fight and truly determine the DOT's role in allowing the infrastructure of federally funded bridges to fail. The whole thing smells of politics and cover up. Going after others with lawsuits that are questionably fruitful are a disservice to Rhode Island's citizens, who have to bear the brunt of delays to get their traffic affairs back in order. It suggests the Rhode Island government is insensitive to their needs and are basically engaged in CYOA.

This guy is the only one that we can get a straight answer from. A 4 year build time seams to be a realistic schedule instead of some fractured fairy tail schedule from the state DOT.

The State has not determined a cause for the broken rods, so suing everybody is a fishing expedition. They are looking for a scapegoat to avoid embarrassing the government. In other words, it is a State security issue.
The DOT is full of engineers, yet the official statement was that rods were sheered. Sheering is a mechanical force that engineers are very familiar with, and that rod was not sheered. It is like the COVID response: We are not following best practices or procedures; instead, we have a public relations campaign that does not serve the people. I would have had before and after pictures of the recent upgrades to the airport connector welcoming travelers to beautiful Rhode Island that were finished recently. I would have asked every person if it was worth it. What is left of beauty in this State is inaccessible to most residents. Raimondo and McGee administrations likely are responsible for the mismanagement, so the investigation doesn't start until we get a Republican administration. The stories about corruption in Rhode Island politics are not fictional. There has never been a reckoning with that issue in our history.
