hi joe, what kind of jack cable did you use to connect your pd8 to octapad? is it stereo jack or mono jack? cause i do the same like you did but i can't get the rim sound , thank you

Hey Joe, I have an octapad and some external pads plus a BD trigger. I've been having a hard time getting my unit to do all that I know it's capable of doing. I'm wondering if you could do some Correspondence or zoom to help me gain a better understanding of how to work the machine.I know that the octapad has awesome potential once I know I know how to work it
Can you explain the kit chain function? I would like to have all my favorite kits together. Also, can I change the volume of a kit as it seems low in the phrase loop mode
Ok it’s pretty easy, you have to have an external pad like a ROLAND PD-8, that is going to Plug into the back on input 3/HIHAT. Then to open and close the hi-hat you’re gonna need a hi-hat pedal like the ROLAND FD-8. That will plug into the back of the ROLAND octapad in the input HH CTRL. Then you need to setup the octapad in the menu and tell it which pad and pedal you have. They will have a list of different ones built in. Then you are ready to play your external Hi-hats. So I heard you mention this, but I’d like to double check because I’ve heard otherwise, can you use external hard drive with samples / sounds and apply them to your additional pads? Or even on the octopad itself? Or can these pads only use stock sounds on the octopad?
Unfortunately, there is no way to control volume on each individual pad, however, in the menu, scroll your left scroll button down to pad, and then hit the enter button. You have three controls. 1: is the sensitivity, 2: is the velocity curve and 3: is threshold, so no volume control. Joe I cant figure out how to make Hi hat foot pedal work with my Hi hat pad work together Is any one out there can help me with this please I know it can be done I just cant figure it out on my SPD-30 that I just bought it brand new with manual but I cant read very good

You can trigger other sounds but with midi only as far as I know
