    Thank you for showing us the PCIe cables plugging. I had to file down part of the ones that enter the GPU because the ones that my PSU brought (Gigabyte's P1000GM), had a small plastic line, rail, whatever you want to call it, on the opposite end of the PCIe 6+2 cables.
    This means that, when attempting to plug the cables in, they did not go all the way, and the bottom did not -click- and lock in place, as it prevented the cables from going in the necessary distance.
    After hours upon hours of not realizing why my monitors kept "losing connection" and my 7900 XT kept turning it's lights off (mine has a low white light near the fans), I have finally found out why this kept happening and it's all thanks to this video, so a huge huge huge thank you good sir, I can finally use my PC without having to restart it and reinstall drivers every 2/3 days.

    I would recommend installing a brace to support the card to reduce the strsses on the PCI socket and protect the GFX cards PCB from cracking overtime. I was unhappy with the stress installing the 2 x 8 pin power plugs put on my card while trying to manage them and also how they looked so i bought and installed the Thermal Grizzley Wire View GPU adapter, not cheap but to myself worth it, This provided better cable management and less stress on the card and a wattage display. Thank you for providing an excellent guide in the best way to install just about any graphics card, Take care, God bless one and all.

Thats an interesting adapter, I would love to review one, I may reach out to them at some point, I've never seen it before, looks cool. Thanks for letting me know about it and I hope the very best for you and god bless you as well.

    • @ThisBytesForYou

      not at all, it states that it brings a graphics supporter: www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/pulse-radeon-rx-7900-xt-20g-gddr6@@MrExdous69

      @@MrExdous69If they included it sapphire knows you need it to use there card and it not be damaged over time. Sadly few companies do something from the goodness of there hearts if a bracket is provided then they think that the stresses on the card of not being supported will lead to damage over time.

I'm coming from integrated graphics on my Ryzen 5 7600X to a 7900XT reference card, when using DDU to clean my system of existing graphics drivers, is there any other sort of special option I need to uncheck? Ha me too. I was holding out hope the 4070 super would have more vram or the 4080 super would have been a little cheaper.
      I could have gotten the xtx but didn’t think the extra 10% was worth $250 more. I also could have gotten a 4090 but I wanted to stick with an all AMD build if I had to drop 2k on a gpu.
      I was tempted to wait for the release of the RX8800XT which is rumored to be faster than the 7900xtx but at half the cost… but didn’t want to stick with my RX7600 for almost 2 more years.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      4070 is a great card, you are good my friend. I don't know if you would be hitting your memory limits though, might want to throw up afterburner and enable the onscreen to show memory, you might surprise yourself but still it is a nice card. but yeah the 7900 is much nicer.@@MrExdous69

      no, you dont need to reinstall windows , from .02 to 6:25 I show you in this video how to change your BIOS from BIOS to UEFI and your OS from MBR to GPT, these cause these issues. Also, your HDMI cable needs to be HDMI 2.1, if you are using HDMI, can should not use adapters, they will cause issues and if you use DP, you need to make sure it is 2.1 as well. This should let it work, if need I will need more information to help yoiu, but give these a try, and here is the video th-cam.com/video/aHVCmkm67q8/w-d-xo.html, I know its a cloning video, but from 02 till 6:25 it shows you how to make the necessary changes.

    I have a short question if it isn't to much of a bother. i plan on buying a RX 7800xt, i an heard a few people saying it is a triple slot card, and we might need a support bracket for the GPU otherwise it could possible damage the PCI slot in time. Know if that info is true?

    Thank you, this helped me figure out some really dumb mistakes I was making.
    Only thing is, I currently only have a daisy-chained cable to connect to both PCI-e 8-pins (well, 6+2-which by the way don't click together as nicely as they do for you). How serious a problem is this? Could I at least temporarily do it that way, with a daisy chain, until I get another separate PCI-e cable?

      anytime bud, so the website shows you have 3 cables, 2 x 6+2s with the daisy chain and 1 x 6+2. You can use the single 6+2 and one of the daisy chained 6+2's, just don't use the second connector. Check inside the power supply box, so 1 cable, 1 connector used, never 1 cable 2 connectors used.

    Warning: Fix fan curve automatically before playing games or stress testing! You will fry the AMD cards quickly if you don't shut off Auto fan stop and don't fix the fan curve. First time I installed my 7900xt it went to 95C after 60 seconds of stress testing. Use amd software in tunings or get afterburner. I have the same exact card. 40% constant fan now and 80% during gaming and temps won't go over 55c.. idles at 27c but I have 3 fans for the top and 3 for bottom pushing air up thru the AIO. Unless I play long hours and my 7800x3d (32c idle - 70C in game) heats up my whole room and the card might go up to 60c max. Also I heard that with my RM850 Corsair PSU cables, it is ok to daisy chain the card with one 1 connector.. does anyone have any real advice on this? My Gpu shows it is pulling 305 watts at times when I max it out but I play in Eco mode and undervolted my GPU since then. Now with my FPS capped at 60fps in 4k I only use about 90-150watt from the card. Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @idrizkast1031 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@ThisBytesForYou Telling people not to fix their fan curve automatically is a huge problem for AMD users, not everyone has a HIGH FLOW 9 dual chamber case like mine with 7 total fans and my AMD card was about to fry itself, so did my 1080ti in my other build case that only had 4 fans and that was an Nvidia card. Same with my RX590, same with my, RX470, same with my HD6850 1GB.. all the cards had problems, crashes after a long game and also heated up other component for no reason. Your AIO cooler lines and M.2 and Ram are all so close together that a card that stays at zero fan speeds till (IDK I think you said they finally start moving at 65C or something) why would you let it even get that HOT.. I always had problems before fixing the fan curve no matter which PC I ever build for myself since P1 300mhz. That's is my advice and ill die on that mountain. Fixed a ton of my friends PCs that way too.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      you don't need to do that if you have adequate cooling in your case, and your ambient temperature, fixing all of that, fixes the need to adjust the fan curve. You have issues with all the card,... that means you have bad air flow if you have had issues with all you cards... just think about that for 10 seconds. Your system has tremendous heating issues. 65°C is not hot at all, that is PERFECT, temps between 65°C to 75 °C are completely normal. You don't want your card to exceed 85°C.
      If you had problems with zero fan speeds, you have thermal issues in your PC. My house is usually 63°F, I LOVE IT COLD and so does my PC. 63°F is 17.22°C. I know that's too cold for a lot of people. My mom and her husband would keep their house at 83°F which is 28.33°C, that's dangerous and they had issues with their PC's when they would game, because they were generating heat, you won't get much lower than ambient for the CPU if you are using liquid, and if you.
      I have been building PC's since I was 13, before AOL, during the BBS days, I was a product development engineer for Alienware, then years later Dell after they bought us, then Velocity Micro, I've been doing this very same testing for years, pretty sure I got a good swing of things. I've been inside heat and sound chambers, this is fun for me.
      Fix the ambient temperature in your house, fix the airflow in your PC, and you don't need to touch Fan curves.

      are you using on die graphics from the cpu?
      If you are going from a 6600XT to a 7900XT then yes you would use DDU, those are graphics, but if you were using the graphics from the cpu going to a gpu then you would use DDU as well, Display Driver Uninstaller.
      To find out if you need it for the cpu, you would look here: rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-xe-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_cpu/

      I did forget to ask you, what is the case you are using?
      Also, right click on an empty space in your background, then click "AMD Software Adrenaline Edition" then click "Performance" then click "Tuning", then click "Custom" under "Manual Tuning" and do you have Fan tuning enabled or disabled? You might want to enable it, then enable "Zero RPM" and you can also adjust your fan curve when you enable Advanced Control.

    Ok, huge problem, I followed your video step by step. I also have an AMD chip set, so I unchecked all the AMD boxes as described, did the clean and shut down. I installed my 7900, connected the monitors, powered up, and nothing, no display. Now how do I install the new drivers, or for that matter, do anything???

    • @ThisBytesForYou

      Well, you saw it worked perfectly for me, as it has the several thousands of times I have done this, this was part of my job... So just breath. Turn off your computer, disconnect the HDMI cable from the video card and the monitor and reseat them. Are the pcie cables connected to the card, not daisy chained together, 2 separate cables? Is your power supply at least 700watts? Is your pcie card firmly inserted into the pcie slot? Drivers won't stop you from seeing what's on your monitor, there is an issue, are you using an HDMI 2.1 cable?

      chances are because you are not using an HDMI 2.1 cable, probably using an older HDMI cable, that is a common issue.

      So that I can help, please list the manufacturer and exact model number of the following components:
      1. Motherboard - manufacturer and exact model number
      2. CPU - manufacturer and exact model number
      3. RAM - manufacturer and exact model number
      4. Video Card - manufacturer and exact model number
      5. Power supply - manufacturer and exact model number
      6. Monitor - manufacturer and exact model number
      Redundant I know, but many people forget to enter manufacturer and exact model number
      7. Do you have ALL of the PCIE connections plugged in, and not daisy chained or pigtailed, each coming directly from the power supply?
      8. Are you running through HDMI, DP, DVI, VGA, any adapters?
      9. UEFI in the BIOS from Legacy. If it was set to Legacy, you will need to reinstall windows to get correct support.
      10. Disable CSM in the BIOS
      11. Installed latest supported chipset driver?
      12. Have you disabled Fast Boot within Windows?
