    Scheff was great on Chicago's Now, a very underrated album. Very good collection of songs.

    I REALLY hope there are more than 1 1/2 lead vocals from Jason. He’s the main reason I’m getting the generation radio album.

    “Mother Father ohhh” love that from Jason. If you sing that song close to the one and only Mr Perry then you really have talent. I really like why are you calling me now. I’m looking forward to hearing the full album.

      Oh No are you talking about that horrible tune from Journey Escape? Mutha Fatha ( not the best Steve Perry vocal !! Very high and nauseating

    Funny how Jason says they needed one more hit for Chicago 19, that album had 5 top 10s. That's more top 10s than Chicago 17 their biggest album of all time.

    Really, you didn’t know til recently that Deen C didn’t sing?
    I remember seeing Journey once (of many times) in between Steve Augeri and Arnel, Jeff Scott Soto was filling in for Augeri. But Deen was singing most of the bigger hits from behind the drums of course.
    This Generation Radio stuff is da bomb!

    i got those chicago albums. i remember Peter cetera left so chicago 18 came out Niagara falls song plays heard the album i thought sounds great. i knew jason wasn't trying to be peter cetera.

      Niagara Falls was a pretty good song. I think it would've been a hit if it wasn't for the lame old Hollywood movie clip video they made to support the song. The band should've been seen on the video, whoever came up with that video concept should've been terminated.

    Wow, so The only song he wrote that was included almost didn't make the record?? What's up with Jay? He doesn't want Jason written songs to be featured on the records or what???. What a casualty that Jason songs tend to stay out from the albums! For Jason's last solo record that Jay produced, there were no new songs written by Jason besides "What Kind of Man", wich was first released as a track from Chicago 19 album in 1988, and was remixed and released a single in 1989 when Chicago Greatest Hits 1982-89 album was out.
    "Why are you calling me now" is the only song that Jason has songwriting credits for, out of the whole album.
    Actually Jason's mentality disappoints me a lot. With that way of thinking, of not wanting to be the star, and the so called balance, he just cannot be the leader of any group. Nor even have a stable solo career. And we will hardly hear brand new material written by him. Perhaps he waited too long to leave Chicago, and when he did it was a little too late. He wasted his best years with Chicago, a little bit more than 30 years just adjusting to Cetera standard, and very little original music performed by him. He got used to that, and now he simply doesn't want to be highlighted in anything, nor wants to be the star...as if he doesn't want people to notice him. What a disapointment. I wanna see him shine, not particularly interested seeing him as a mentor...he's a rock star to me. How sad that he doesn't see himself that way 😔. Humbleness is good, but not just like that!! And now I wonder if his next solo album inspired in Elton John style, and others, will see the light of day.

      Jason Scheff is one of the best bass players around and what it seems to me is that he's aware of his own limitations. He could sing very well at the start of his time with Chicago, but all of those years on the road, plus the reality of getting a bit older would have taken a toll on his voice. Even Peter Cetera can't sing songs that he sang in the 1970s in the original key. As far as songwriting goes, most songwriters hit their peak in their 20s and 30s and often don't write much at all after that (yes there are exceptions...). So it wouldn't be surprising if Jason is sticking to what he can do well rather than trying to relive past glories.

      @lamarravery4094 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I agree, Jason should've left Chicago after 10 yrs with the band. They didn't do much after the Stone of Sisyphus and that's when he should've left and gone solo. But the lure of easy touring money probably kept him in the band. It was ridiculous how many Chicago compilation albums came out in the 1990s and 2000s. They should've been doing new material.

      @@lamarravery4094The Chicago "21" album bizarre lack of promotion had kind of set the stage for all those compilation albums. Had the "21" album been actually been marketed and performed on their tour, they would not have lost the momentum that brought about a lack of new music. Jason Scheff and the Chicago band could have carried that sound through the 1990s and maybe beyond, as much as new musical genres competed during that era, the power love ballad still continues to be one of the most successful formats of music ever.

    David Foster is so overrated! I don’t like the smaltzy music he produces. Mediocrity mainly. I don’t buy any of his music. And I’m better off!
