Very nice video! It sounds like the Morimoto Mled 2.0 is brighter than the Morimoto D2S 5.0 but when you get some 5.0s in stock it would be cool to see a comparison video of the two. I'd like to see how the cutoffs and width compare. Thanks!
Very good comparison, you might have taken so much to put all this together. My request is if possible can you add iPHCAR projectors into comparison next time. It has headlight projector and also a fog light projector which are very good and reliable.
Great review. Sad, that manual exposition was not set to match the highest output headlight, so that we would not see 100% highlight clipping without getting difference between good and best
Orienting the HB led vertical would be interesting! Hard to find out how it would perform though and if it didn't turn out well pita to turn it normal lol
"Toyota Corona"....homie predicted the outbreak. Good video though. Was considering getting my Cadillac retrofitted with the new mLED 2.0 from Morimoto and this solidified that decision.
The only thing that is in the question - is it really better to have ultra wide high beam (Morimoto HB mini) OR it would be better to go with concentrated narrow-focus far-throw supplementary beam. What do you think?
Sir great video I have been trying to find a channel like yours forever now I’m definitely glad I found yours. Let me ask you sir. I have a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 that belongs to my son that I’m trying to fix up a little bit before he comes back home from being on deployment in the navy. Which projector would be good to install into the 2002 Chevrolet S-10? What would you recommend? Thank you sir.
Hey friend, Great video, your work is appreciated, not many have such an ownest headlight review! very informative. I always travel at night in areas where animals crossing the road is quite often. Therefore, a headlight upgrade is necessary, What are your suggestions? I have a 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero, OEMs are: - low beam, HID projector (rated 35W). - high beam, halogen reflectors (rated 50W).
Great comparison, next time compare a XenonDepot 5000K bulb to the competition. XenonDepot from my experience and many others, including even the retrofit source, performs a lot better than Morimoto his bulbs. Also an OEM D2S bulb comparison would be cool.
Great comparison! If one does a retrofit, and wants extra performance, is it better to go for the best projector and expensive xenon bulbs 35w ballast? or to a quad cheap setup with low cost projectors, bulbs and such? Thanx

@summit 1_1 I have quad Mini H1 7.0 with GTR gen 2 55w ballast and GTR bulbs that came with the kit. It's brighter than my Morimoto D2S 3.0 with the same ballast and CBIs. I tried XB35s in my H1s but they had a green hue. GTR, at least my models when I bought them 4 years ago had a lifetime warranty and I've been running 6 ballast across 2 cars and never had a ballast go bad.
Any experience with g5-Brt? It’s coated lens supposedly increases output. Would be interesting to see if it outperforms the EX in hotspot or side measurements
the g5-brt does outperform the EX in side measurements already, but the hotspot measurement is something to be seen. As for the coating it may increase the output by at most 100lx @30ft or something, it doesn't double the performance. The EX-L 3.2 coated lens version is the best spot performing HID projector with 1500-1600lx @30ft with 35w ballast, this is still close to 3x lesser than the laser hotspot which does over 4680lx!
Is there any differences between led projector vs hid projector? Especially at the lens technology. Or we can replace the bulb into all projector type and the result is depending only on the bulb quality?
1. Do Morimoto MLED 2.0 Projectors fit a 2014 Honda Odyssey EX-L ?? 2. Which LED bulbs do you recommend for these ?? Do they come with LED bulbs included ??
I have the Profile Bi lens 2.0 for about a year now and I LOVE them! They are better than any of the HID projectors I have ever retrofitted. Then MLED 2.0 came out not long after. I have always wondered if they are better than the Bi Lens 2.0. According to this video, they are brighter. Issue for me is the shaft. MLED 2.0 shaft is too wide for my headlights (9007). I have tried to sand down the back side of the reflector to make the shaft fit. But I could never align it correctly. Couldn't get the lights to aim straight. So no MLED for me. :(
Hey, how do you like the Bi lens 2.0 so far? Do you have any videos to share? I'm looking to add it to my D2S setup which has G5R+Philps XV G2+35W hylux ballast. So, any help would be highly appreciated. And I'm also in the same boat, there isn't enough space for the MLED. Thank you!
@@amjathkhan2004 I absolutely love my Bi Lens 2.0. I retrofitted them into both of my vehicles. I have no complaints whatsoever. However, you already have an amazing D2S setup right now. In term of brightness, your setup will beat Bi Lens 2.0. I also have the exact same setup and did a lux test, G5R with Philips XV 2 and 35W Hylux ballasts outperformed the Bi Lens 2.0. I think it was about 150 lux at 25 feet? But in term of color, Bi Lens 2.0 is whiter, a true 5000k IMO. MLED is a bit bluer like 6000k. Sorry, I do not have any videos to show. @@jessewashere4734 Thank you for your detailed explanation, much appreciated! The pronlem with my current setup is either the bulbs has lost like 40% of their brightness already or the ballast has problem. All my friends were equally surprised at how well these bulbs light up the road in the beginning, but after little over two years, I feel they somehow lost the magic. I asked the same question in one of TRS YT videos, they replied back saying the bulbs and ballasts degrade in quality as they age! I am just disappointed given the cost of the bulbs and it's just two and half years. So, I have ordered a $30 Chinese yeaky D2S bulbs to just confirm. Meanwhile, I always wanted to DIY quad projector and this bi lens seems to be good fit in terms of less power consumption and long light throw like 500 meter away. @@amjathkhan2004 I think a quad setup will be amazing. If I have the room to do it, I would. What TRS said about the degrading components is true. However, like you said, after two years? No. Especially the Hylux ballasts, they are OEM quality. They are unlikely the cause. I bought a pre built Mini H1 a few years ago. After a year later, I noticed the light output got a lot weaker. But still no where close to where it was when new. So I replaced the ballasts with Hylux. Same result. So I suspect the HID reflector bowls are degrading. I disassemble the unit, inspect the bowls. Yup, the bowls are degrading because of the heat, not much, but enough to rob my light output. So I replace the projectors with Morimoto Mini H1 7.0. Ahhh... much better. But still not where I want it to be... Long story short, your HID bulbs will degrade along with your projectors. But your Hylux will last many years. Even with LED projectors, they will also create heat. But there is a heatsink and a fan to fight the heat. It will keep your LED chip cool, and should put out the same brightness until it dies. There is one thing you might want to consider. If any components attached to the LED projector fails, you will need to replace the whole unit $$$. HID wouldn't have that issue as you can replace one thing at a time.
