There is actually a fairly simple way to stop this. Our government needs to tell the Indian government that if they don't fix this problem in, say, 6 months, we will slap a 100% tariff on all goods coming from India. Like the old joke about the donkey, first you need to get their attention.

The down side is if you give your cell phone number out you must immediately add that person or business to your contact list. It's too late for me since I've had that number for many years and but I passed this on to a friend who just set up a new account and she said it works.

This has happened to me with my friends twice in just a couple of minutes. A little bit different than spoofing. My friend called me and I answered saying "Hello??" They never replied so I ended then she called me again so I answered and she asked me "Why did you call me?" But she called me. And I'm not even joking she wasn't even pranking me because it happened again after like 2 minutes.
You don't know how many legit calls I get that I let pass because I don't have their number/name in my contacts. I may not know that until I get the call. Some don't leave voicemail, then I lose an opportunity I should have had just because someone wasn't sure which exact number or person was going to call about the opportunity.
