1888 shines as a Xerjoff release utilizing their familiar excellent bed of florals sitting on a syrupy vanilla amber that can give the user a Root Beer accord with the florals. Truly a great blend.

There was something in this (might be the ylang ylang) that put me off it. I much preferred Regio for its use of carnation and its mix of classic and modern tones.

Brother I just bought this fragrance from fragranceNet.com and the bottle they sent me it’s a little different, no face in the front and it doesn’t have the X in the back either , could this be a fake?

Got it. Then sold it. Then got a decant again... once I sold the 100ml I suddenly had cravings for the scent. At first, I didn't appreciate 1888's superb blending and ingredients. But as with so many good things in life, you don't know what've got until it's gone.
Now I'm a happy camper. I've got a decant that will last me for years, plus a sample bottle in my office bag along with many other sample bottles I just HAVE TO sniff every couple of hours... I know, it's a mental illness... I am just addicted to magical scents and have to smell a few a day. Anyone here knows a rehab for this addiction ? (I thought I was cured after buying a 100ml of Tuscan Leather, which I was high on for a few months, but after a few months the itch came back and I had to explore and buy new magical scents... such is life).

@@robes08 Btw, as much as 1888 is a beautiful scent by itself, I find it even more magnificent as a layering base. The sum of the right combination (layering) is greater than its parts when its comes to this scent.
For example, when I layer it with a certain PdM or AdP that add a bite to the amber/florals... the end result is stanning.

This one is Ok. Tried it Years ago, floral and amber are nice but it's a bit too powdery/cedarwood for me overall, and almost oddly leaning feminine.
Plus I recently among Boadecia's new line-up; Rebellious and The King are really good fruity/tobacco orientals I prefer
I know it has zero to do with the scent and im sure its beautiful 🤔but 🤔 they have got to be thee ugliest bottles I've ever seen 😂🤣😂
