This was my first NES game. Hardest game ever. I could never figure out what the heck I was doing. I was constantly running around on a side scroll that felt like it never went anywhere. And the repetitive music drove me nuts.
I hated how it seemed very little like what it's based on. The Sega Rambo was a lot better. At least it looked better,I never played it😆. I think that one was based on the third one now that I think about it. But yeah it was way too difficult for what it was and with very little pay off if any

I remember my dad bought me this game when I was like 7, I was so thrilled because I knew Rambo from the movies and I didn't know a game lile that even existed. At the time I didn't know english (I am from Perú) and my gamer knowledge wasn't enough and I couldn't even pass the first level, all I can remember was the Heli at the beginning and the dialogue for when the characters spoke. Good times.

This was what I'd call a sleeper hit or hidden gem. It was a very good game. But, many people didn't knew about it compared to Kung Fu, Mike Tyson's Punchout, Super Mario bros, Double Dragon, etc.

I didn't play this game, but did play enough of such oldies to understand how painful this game must be. And this final boss looks ridiculously OP. You must be part of a very small club after beating such a game WITHOUT skipping it !

The Co stuff is really bad. There's what looks like an out of place scene at 13:25 and after 23:27 she disappears for good I believe. I wasn't even familiar with the film when I played the game originally so I wouldn't have even known back then. Looking at it now though I wonder if this may have been a localization thing. Where the Famicom version had a better story.
I remember a glitch at the beginning where you walk to through jumble/scramble screen for a while looking for a door that drops you off at a random spot in the game. Anyone remember where to enter that screen?
I seem to remember an endless run through the rain while fighting snakes. And a spider type boss? I definitely made it to the chopper, but doesn't everyone live? Very weird, my memory of this game was quite a bit different than this play through. I guess I was like 9 though.

Ya, I remember you telling me that on skype the one day. A lot of its just simple tactics the guys that jumpkick its good to usually back away from them first than hit them. Depends on the situation really or if you have the higher ground you can jump down and slash with your knife.
I wish this was Zelda 2 then I would of had an easier time. Shadow Link is a lot easier to handle than the helicopter in rambo 2 especially when you use the corner strategy.

What a wacky game, you start out knifing bugs, flying skulls & a giant spider but later you face Soviet troops whose bosses heads swell with every hit. And don't get me started on what happened to Murdoch at game's end! Still, nice run though.
Borrowed this game from a friend. i didnt' have much problem finishing it or figuring out what to do unlike a lot of people commenting but i was also probably 10 or 11 (as opposed to 7 or 8) so that might have helped. I mean i do remember the game not being straightforward but i figured it out in time and i remember finding it specifically rewarding. It's weird when i think of my nes playing days i almost never think of this game yet i played it a lot but only probably for a period of like two months.

I had to watch this in full (on double speed, cuz I'm not a masochist, couldnt bare to slog thru this crap for 31 min), because like everyone else, I had this game and had absolutely no FRIGGIN idea what to do or where to go... let's say by chance I happened to luck my way into beating this game, which probably would take me like 10 hours, and I saw THAT ending, not only would I be confused ("thank you for trying"... what?? TRYING??? Did I just finish the game the wrong way, or miss something???), but I would be furious that after all that crap, THAT is the ending
I think I had to either follow tips from Nintendo Power or use Game Genie on this one. This game was tough, took me so long to beat it. Music was decent though. -12 year old me

Had no idea you could beat this game without rescuing the kid from the giant spider. What other side missions were in this game? I can't remember.
