Theory: Izzy and Chef are both former CIA agents, but Izzy was dishonorably discharged for leaking government secrets to the soviets so she fled, joined the games, and took on the "Izzy" persona to hide in plain sight. Chef was deployed to spy on her, also in plain sight, so they know each other but both know they can't overreact with the other watching them. That's how Izzy knows how to make napalm and misdirect people, and why Chef just randomly knows how to pilot a plane held together with tape.
Izzy is my nostalgic favourite character from Total Drama Island and Action. I just love her character. She kinda started falling off in the World Tour season.
Watching Total Drama now made me realize something: despite the ups and down, this is one of the very few show that portrays teenagers correctly, many tv shows portray teenagers like they are all horny, extremely depressed, fashion fans or activists, this one shows more varieties of them (the crazy one, the playful one, the hot headed one, the nerd one etc.) and it does in a way that make all of us care for them
