CICHLID STRAIN HUNTER I would agree. I noticed after keeping many butti a difference in mouth shapes and growth. It’s hard to explain but after seeing so many I feel I can tell the difference by the mouth.
Yes. I hope to have rehomed the ATF by then into a large tank, hopefully a 5500 gal. If the tank's not ready, will have to remove them from the display and keep in the back until their new tank is ready.
You can email them to me or I'd recommend starting a thread on MFK Catfish section or Planet Catfish. That way you might get 100x more useful input than just from me.
90% are currently for exhibit only. 10% are available for adoption, same idea as any other rescue, subject to fee and humane keeping requirements as almost all of them are 2-3 feet and growing.
@@timdero4409 I can't tell male from female (for various reasons; dark and unapproachable tank not the last of them). They are all 10" or larger. Again, are you in FL? It's only pick up. We don't ship.
The female must have stopped guarding them because she's been quite alert and vigilant from everything I could see, not even letting the male too close. I keep a night light on, so catfish couldn't sneak in in the darkness. Could have the parents eaten their own eggs, even if the eggs were viable? What if not viable?
Man they look great Butta one of my old favorites 🔥💯✔
Very cool thank you for the video!
I like em in a 14 1\2 foot tank one of my dream fish
Like the tiger but there teeth is crazy
From cichlid behavior it looks like the smaller one guarding the eggs is the female I'm almost 💯 percent sure on that.
Appreciate the answer, thank you.

So which is it? Male or female?

Whats going to happen when you open to the public, wont you have to turn on the lights then?

one guarding the eggs is the female
hello, I'm currently working on two posters about catfish, and I would like to have your opinion, how can I send you the models?

@@nicolasflorencio3569 Yes. I know. So... will you make a thread or would you rather email me your question?

Are you going to put in a divider?
No. I've no time or even an opportunity to dedicate to this.
What happened to these guys?
I had to kill them off by the government order.

You should seperate those 2 from the rest of the fish
I would have, if I had time. Anyway... the eggs were gone on the second or third night. I don't know what happened to them.
@@Fish-Story Catfish might have eaten them
