    • @Suthek
      @Suthek 4 ปีที่แล้ว +257

      Basically, unlike Pool Billiard in Snooker you are required to play specific balls. As long as red balls are there, you have to play red -> any color -> red -> any color etc. (though most pro's will only target the color giving the most points). Once all red balls are gone, you have to sink the colored balls in order of their point value.
      The important thing here is that the cue ball mustn't touch any ball other than the one you're going for. A snooker is a position your enemy puts you in where you have no clear shot on the ball you need to play.

      @@Suthek For most common games on a pool table you have to play specific balls as well. 9 ball you have to hit the balls in numeric order (same as 10 ball.) In 8 ball you have to hit stripes or solids. The only games I can think of where you aren’t required to hit specific balls are straight pool and one pocket (I’m sure there’s more though.)

    • @Suthek
      @Suthek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@Frank7489 I didn't know about 9 ball, and 8 ball, yes, full or stripes to determine your balls. But you're still free to hit any ball of those you choose. In snooker, the colored balls give different point values and as I said, pro's will likely only target the color giving the most points. So every second shot, there is exactly ONE ball you can/should play; once the red ones are gone, every shot you can play exactly one ball. That's what I meant with specific balls.

      @@av.keshavshastry7785 In Snooker you get points (usually four, but can be more if a higher value colour was played first) when your opponent fouls. You then have the option of playing on from the position your opponent left the table in or having them retake the shot. The second option is often taken when it is very difficult for your opponent not to foul in the hopes of being awarded more foul points on their next attempt (and if it's not easy for you to play on from the position your opponent left the balls in after their foul).

    I think this is one thing Snooker (and pool in general) has that few sports have: The chance for laughs and smiles, tongue-in-cheek as they may be sometimes.

    It’s not what you do,it’s how you do it.I am a follower of snooker.The best
    snooker I have seen,was when Jimmy White was snookered.The only
    option for Jimmy was to hit the white ball up the table from the side,
    and to hit the ball he wanted to,which was up the other end of
    the table.He did it.

    6:03 Allen imitated what Selby did when he played a similar shot against Ricky Walden on a different occasion, but I'm surprised that here he didn't retaliate by stamping the floor!

    sullivan's last one was so good, even the cueing for the green ball was so good, for all we know, maybe sullivan wanted to make that shot, and if he didnt, its ok. but he did.

  • @Mattie1979
    @Mattie1979 ปีที่แล้ว

    The last clip. Not only did Ronnie O'Sullivan fluke the yellow, but he also fluked position on the green too! Two flukes for the price of one.
