Brandon I appreciate your coverage of the upper midwestern malls. Not many people record these places. Your videos are great! Those tacos looked amazing and I am happy they are still in business.
Thanks for the video!! such memories.. I used to go to that mall as a kid when were at a cabin in spicer. The kmart was thriving and there was a really cool store called “world’s greatest deals” that sold all kinds of closeout stuff. I remember seeing Mario 64 games new in box there for like 10$ There was a really cool alt music store too called “Toons” as I recall that sold korn/limpbizkit nu metal shirts in the late 90s :) The cinema was Carmike cinemas and there was a weird chinese food place there. That mall downtown had a sports card store and a pet store in the bassment the sports card store that had a sega dreamcast that we played games at in the early 2000s. There was also a local PBS station in that mall and a store called Camile’s Closet that sold boutique clothes Hit me up if you have any questions! Very interesting and it was all dying around the early late 99 early 2000s
If Centre Point is open and I can make a video, I’ll take you up on that offer. I learned about that mall when I was trying to figure out when Willmar had a Ben Franklin.
FWIW: Skylark mall had a Woolworths way back. Kandi Mall used to have a Ben Franklin that moved there from the Center Point mall. CP mall had a independent bookstore in it for a while and a cafeteria in the lower level.
Thank you for sharing this. I would have not expected Centre Point to be anything more than a hallway. I hope the lower level is still open to the public.
So I lived in Spicer from 1993 to 2004. best years of my life. I've been trying to find photos of the area from that time period but can never find any
The movie theater was originally over by the K-Mart, on the wall you show at 2:27 in this video). It moved in the 90s (between 94 and 97 I’m guessing) to its current larger location within the mall. My first movie theater experience (Lion King) was in the old location by the K-Mart.
Hmm, that mall looks interesting, but it's bit of a haul for me for a mall that may not be open. I don't think there are any videos. I wonder what's inside.
The Minnesota State Bird devours tacos at a familiar dead mall. That's all you need to tell me and I'm sold. Great video, Loon!
Thank you! I gotta go back for more.
Happy New Year! Always enjoy your videos. Looking forward to new content.

Thank you so much!
You hit it out of the park with this video! Thank you for the mention!
No problem! Thanks for spreading the word of Minnesota malls to the community.
Thanks for the video!!

I remember Toons. I also remember eating at the little fast food cafe thing at the K Mart. which didn't seem like that long ago

This mall kinda feels similar to a mall I visited last summer to play mini golf at during a day off I had from the summer camp I was staffing at.

That’s for letting me know. I thought the hallway was kind of boring. It makes sense to have something like the movie theater there.
Watching this video and hearing about the Akron Beacon Journal, the news paper I grew up reading in the 60s and 70s!
Thank you for the tour. Know the city, but have not visited the mall
Walnut mall in richardson TX next? pls
idk if the doors are open or not

I was about to say, why does this all seem so oddly familiar until you dropped thunderbird mall Virginia.
4 tacos??
Uh oh… better hit the gym… 😂
I made a couple extra laps around the mall. 😄
