There's two little loops next to the waist straps, you thread the waist straps through there and use them like pulleys to really sinch down the pack onto your waist. Thats why those waist straps look so long. They're not meant to hang down
My tree stand does fit in the meat packing section Not sure about the size of the sticks, but I’m sure between the gun/bow boot, the side pockets and all the straps they will have a home
Thank you for putting together such a thorough review! You have me confidence to pick this up! Hope you had a great hunt. p.s. your helper is adorable!
Hey Jason. Great video. I read the comments below about the hip belt sizing. I’m a 30-32” waist. I’ll be hunting later in November so I’ll have some thicker pants on but do you think I will be able to get it tight enough for support? Hope all is well.
I have the cabelas Instinct Alaskan 85 liter with side wings pack. The bomb external frame bucket pack. I carry no water only sawyer micro bag filter, Aqua qwest tarp, big Agnes tent. Kicks ass. 6 miles in with sleeping bag inside the pack.
I know this thread is old but I just watched your video because I recently picked up a Cabela's 4000. I was just wondering, in the video you were talking about getting rid of some weight from the 50 pounds, but you never accounted for ammo or tools. That has to be at least 10 pounds of the 50. How much ammo did you carry?
Sorry for the late response The only tools I tool was a leather man and two knives Ammo, 4 and in the gun 6 in my pocket somewhere lol .... never taken more than one to take the game, thank goodness, but I will send lead down range on the wolves I admit, I packed 2x more food than needed, that is where I would cut my weight the most. The water bottle was just for the pack in, or else I may fall out. My main water was from the streams and h2o tablets
Ricky Powell no regrets. I found that my pack needed to be adjusted. It’s $200, and for that price point it’s seemingly good for durability, but what will break first I would think are those snap latches they have. Forgot to buckle one few times and cinched it down but it didn’t break but that will be a week point if left unsnapped. You don’t want it over 50 lbs I would say. It can put 2 quarters in/on it. One on the meat shelf and one in the bag part, depending what you already have in there. I’m going to do a review soon now that my hunt is over, but elk is around the corner and it may be a week out. For $200, going to be hard to beat.
I broke down and purchased one myself. As you said, I figure the buckles will wear out (or break) with time first before anything. This pack will do everything I need it to for the price. Im hoping to get several years of use out of this and then maybe upgrade to a more rugged pack later in time if finances permit. Thanks for the review. Definitely helped me make up my mind!
Great video demonstration. Thank you!
3 years later and I appreciate your post! The two videos have really helped
Where is rain cover?
@@nathanboyd2137 it is in a zippered pocket on the bottom of the pack and works well

Yeah I did that and they still hang. Found that out after this video
@@jasoncox3402 👍thanks for the video
Has anyone carried a hang on stand and sticks with this?

Glad it helped
Great demonstration in presence of a cute little angel. Keep it safe.
You need to pack wet wipes vs TP, not only is it way more space efficient but it is also more efficient in general lol but seriously 🤣
True story and they have replaced TP 👍🏼

If your a 30” man I doubt it will get tight. Secure yes, tight no.
If a 32” I think you’ll be ok

how do you feel about your purchase now? How'd it work out for your hunt? anymore pro's/cons?
Just made a video about the pros and cons on this bag. Post season review
I have a 32 -34 inch waist will the hip belt fit around me?
I have the same waist. It is good. Wouldn’t want to be much smaller though. But it worked for me.

Cary your rifle and put the sleeping bag where your rifle was. Candy shoot if it's on your back
I’m looking to pick one up tomorrow. How do you think it will hold up? Any regrets?

Can someone make a post hunt video review about this pack? Really want to see one before I buy. Thanks
BlueCordOutdoors I just did a post season review on this pack
