Ah idk But our bio teacher told us to put a drop of glycerine first on the slide and then the safranine stained onion peel on it so that the cells of onion peel doesn't dry up. And one thing that I want to tell you that you were holding slide incorrectly cause we have to hold the slide from the sides while I swear I could see ur fingerprints on the slide...
No not one molecule thick. One layer of cells is what you are looking at or looking through when you do this lab. Imagine one layer of bricks, where each brick is one cell. And now if you're standing above this layer of bricks looking down on it, that is kind of what you're seeing when you look through the microscope at the cells.
Cells are massive compared to molecules. Cells contain 40 million proteins, each of which contains 10-10000 amino acids, each amino acid is a molecule in its own right so we're talking hundreds of millions of them in each cell. And that is just the proteins!
I did that and my teacher said it need to be thinner...I was like bruh...but it worked anyways..it was so cool..we put Bromothymol blue...or something else...i forgot
Thanks for your time to make this video great I hope you loads more video about cells, stain, gram +,_. Very helpful

If only I had watched this video earlier, I would be able to cheat in my practical exam
I was doing this experiment today in school
When you say that the onion you peeled is one cell TH I CK ,do you mean it's one molecule thick?

From my point of view you should use forceps to peel out the transparent part from onion rather than using fingers
can you please use safranine
Can't I just use a film?
Thank you so much for clear my doubts
