I was the girl who programmed for myself, 5-6 days a week in the gym and 30 minutes cardio every single workout. When I cut out the cardio and started MAPS Anabolic my body drastically changed. I got so much leaner and finally started seeing muscle gains. Now I’ve done Anabolic, Performance and this week I’m finishing Aesthetic and I’ve NEVER looked or felt better 💪🏼 not to mention, I can actually eat as much as I want to and stay lean! So happy I found you guys a year ago when I started this journey

Just started hitting the gym after 2 yrs of working out at home. Listening to you guys makes me feel like I have gym buddies teaching me the ropes around the place.
I used to be scared of weights due to my heart surgery in 2015 but I'm slowly working up the mentality to work out and lift.
Hearing about not always having to go hard all the time is comforting.
    Thanks for all you do.

Been listening to this podcast since mid 2022 and I’ve learned more about fitness than any other time in my life. I’ll turn 40 on Sunday and that’s the last day Anabolic Advanced is on sale. So if this comment doesn’t win, I’ll buy myself that birthday present.

High intensity short workouts have been the key to my gains. It's simple and many coaches won't advocate for it as they want to create a need for their services.

Love you guys. I’m a daily listener and i have felt challenged lately.. I completed a round of MAPS anabolic in December where I didn’t feel like my body changed much- it felt like I got bigger (and in my head bigger = fat gain of course). I dont weigh due to body image issues in the past.
I purchased MAPS performance, but took a break from programmed training the first few weeks of January… decided to go back and do anabolic again (the right way- with adequate protien and consistent trigger sessions- still working on the sleep!)…
I returned to phase 1 expecting to basically be starting from square one. But I made gains in that first round! I added 25 lbs to my squat, 35 lbs to my bench press, 35 lbs to my overhead press and 30 lbs to my DL.
Adam, your videos on shoulder health and mobility have been a godsend, as i started overhead press and bench pressing just the bar because my form wasn’t there yet and I had shoulder impingement issues. For the first time in any workout program, I’m not hurting my shoulder and I’m getting strong.
My thighs and butt have gotten bigger and I’m trying to trust the process and get my damaged metabolism back up so i can lean out and reveal the lean muscle before a big event i have in June.
Keep doing what you’re doing, the world needs y’all and I love listening to your parenting antics, with 7 and 11 year old sons myself. ❤

I started listening to Mind Pump in March of last year. I was 31 at the time and just kind of lost in my fitness journey. I have been in the gym since I was 16 and since becoming a father I fell into the pattern of just going through the motions when I lifted. After listening to this podcast my spark was reignited and I have been reaching for new fitness goals with some improved methods thanks to all of the advice I have heard from y'all. Now Mind Pump is a daily must have on my stereo when I'm in my gym. Thank you for the excellent content and keep up the good work!

I’m really benefiting from your MAPS performance in tandem with MAPS prime. I have had bad luck with lifting programs in the past in relation to injury and inability to do lower body exercises, but these programs are perfection!!💯
I have had some issues in the past with back pain and lower body lifting, and I’m so proud and grateful to say I’ve been squatting and deadlifting! 🤩
My depression has lifted having utilized your programs and even my relationship with my husband is improving!! He is helping with the kids to help me get to the gym early. I am looking forward in time and I would love to rotate all of your programs in the gym to sustain this level of energy, wellness and strength ❤

I appreciate the amount of research time, that you guys have saved me. Started in the early 90s, on Weider mags. Was glad when Muscle Media came out, because they were more open about PED workouts & natural workouts. My dad bought my brother & me, "Bulgarian Strength Systems." I learned quite a bit, from that. They were talking about hot/cold exposure, for recovery, back then. Fell in love with working out. Managed a GNC through college, which was educational-for me. 51, @ 14%, 175lbs, 5'9". I really liked this episode. I know you were laughing about people telling you to stay in your lane, and I used to be one of them. But now I have come to appreciate those side bars even when I think you have no idea what you are talking about. i was born in the early 80's so I'm right in your age range. Sadly not everyone that was constantly moved from city/school nearly every year becomes someone that has an easy time making friends throughout the rest of their lives. I remember this one time after my (single) mom dropped me off at fifth grade. It was early so I stood by a tree and watched the kids play from a distance. I had been doing this for some time but on this morning, next thing I knew, my mom was right next to me, screaming at me at what I was doing and took me to the school staff to take it out on them... Which really only made things much worse. As I got older and found out I couldn't just go and get a job at McDonalds or whatever like everyone else (no SSN/birth certificate) really made me dig myself into a hole because of feelings of utter ineptitude. To this day I have to push myself towards socializing and easily get distraught when things don't go as I'd hoped. It's a process. I was never someone that got a medal for getting 15th place or ever made felt like I was a winner when I really wasn't, but I still have to fight with what you guys described with kids these days not having emotional maturity and just giving up/not trying.
All that being said, it's good to hear about Adam playing a video game. I've never tried VR but I imagine horror games must be a whole nother level. And that was the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, not 1994.

You guys have mentioned previously that some of the younger generation is branching out of social media and using flip phones bc they’re cool and kind of going reverse, to their benefit, and I’m so glad to say I can see it in my own son. Every single day him and his friends prefer playing football outside, riding their bikes around town and feeling free and responsible getting themselves lunch and snacks and managing their money in that way and my son has not had video games since august/September and is so over them! Sports are so important or just even creating a “club” to meet and socialize in the thing they’re interested in. 👏👏 there’s hope.

Mary Lou was good, but that was also the year Russia either boycotted or were prohibited from competing so a lot of people did well who would not have won otherwise. I think that was the year Russia got caught doping.
I like your comments on training to failure. A lot of research seems to be coming out on hypertrophy and the success of training one to three reps short of failure. Variety is the key to continuous progress. I’ve learned a lot about training over the sixty plus years I’ve been training but I’m still learning.
I’ve mixed my protein with bone broth for about a year now and I’m still improving, incrementally obviously, but it’s great.
Taking a road trip the month after graduation used to be a time honored tradition. Going someplace different on your own, was a great confidence builder. Busing and the loss of the neighborhood school has set us up for much of what you’re talking about. Great conversation, but nothing is going to change now.

Watching Justin trying not to laugh when he said “rubbing the two sticks” with the hand motion made me spit out my drink. I turned 12 at the second 😂lol😂

Great episode. Much more clarifications on the failure training. I am just about to finish anabolic so what do you guys think I should do . I don't have any other maps programs so can't change my training. And my programming is the opposite of something brag about

I like you 3 so much for the fitness and lifestyle advice but even more for the knowledge you have around sports , seeing you know about romanian athletes ( Nadia Comaneci ) means much too me 🇹🇩🇷🇴

The Olympics that Bella Carroli coaches was in 1996, not 94. SNL portrayed them in a weekend update sketch where Chris Katan played Keri Strugg and he wasn't in the cast in 94.

For the average person, I think too much soreness, or for any person realistically is a sign of “over training”. But MOST people don’t train hard enough. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having sore muscles as long as you’re eating properly, sleeping properly and recovering properly.

Sal, good memory on Mary Lou Retton. Her dad and brother coached me in Little League. Their whole family is short, strong, and wicked athletic, but very intense themselves. I’m sure her dad was harder on her than Bela was. She was at least accustomed to hard coaching.

I’m with Sal well maybe everyone… I hate going to crowded places but when my wife starts losing it I’m get calm. She is typically a saint… when we go out and there are three different requests for food she will go to each place for the kids! My parents never asked except for our birthdays and that wasn’t even all the time!

I've been focusing more on strength training and getting stronger for the past 2 months or so; I've also increased my calories but I fear that not following a proper program is delaying/hindering my results. Trusting the process😅

Good for Jessica btw! I fed and pumped for both my boys wherever I needed to- including the Monterey bay aquarium. 😆 I remember “those times” in the car with a screaming baby and taking the boob out, knowing others are staring at stop lights… No shame 🤱🏼

Love the show! I think I know what the difference is between how your muscles look between heavy weight vs lighter weight style training you talk about around 9:30. Sarcoplasmic hypertrophy is pump style and myofibrallar hypertrophy is the heavy weight response. Check it out.
    Thanks for all the info.

Sal, dude, i hear ya on the stressful weekend, it seems like every damn time I try to do a cool adventure with my kids, it blows up like that. My 13 year old is terminally motion sick and my 4 year old is a mini Thanos.

It's brilliant but counterintuitive at the same time that cardio slows your metabolism while resistance training increases your metabolism.

Lift to failure all the time and you need to give your central nervous system a lot more rest between workouts to avoid overtraining.
