Thanks for the review follow-up. Still not certain if I'm going to get one, $75 bucks here in the US is over my "what the heck" threshold. Enjoy a coffee on me (well, half a coffee if you're a Starbucks guy) 🙂
Many thanks :) 🙏
Used Big blue one like these about 10 yrs ago, easier by eye and hand imo, good vid phil
Thanks 👍
Too much gap for me too Phil, must be 5mm from what I can see.. You will get a lot closer by hand. Plus every time you have to do a run you have that faf of setting up through the machine again.
This really is for wooden windows painting where you need some paint to go over the glass...
I now know that I'm NOT buying the Masking Master.
Thanks Phil!
Hallo, ich bin auch an diesen Taper interessiert und fragte auch diese Firma, bekomme aber keine Antwort von denen.
Frage an Sie: welchen Innendurchmesser muss/darf das Band haben und wie ist der Max. Aussendurchmesser?
Oder: passt TESA 25mm dort hinein?
Danke im voraus für Ihre Antwort.
Hi. Yes. Standard size tape and 25mm is perfect
Watch my other video on masking masker too. That may help you understand a bit more with the set up.
Would it work without the lid on ?
you mean take it out the box?
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
The lid to the machine is the thickness of that unacceptable gap.
If there is a 2mm gap, then don't put the wheel flush with the roll of tape like the manufacturer suggests, let the tape overhang the wheel by 2mm and then put the overhanging side on the correct side and there should be no gap, easy.
@@tiger666tiger he also started on the trip that was already probably 1mm sticking out so it probably didn’t help either.
Phil, sorry mate it’s a novelty product for diy’rs. Might come in handy to stop a mugging on a Saturday night ✌️
This is like a masking instructional video for toddlers 🤣
thanks for watching :)
Good video Phil. Too slow for pro's though.
Sorry about that. LoL
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator 😆👍🏻
Havent you tried to push the tape into that ring by cover of the body? Cuz the body looks like 1mm thick and youve got 3mm gap. Take calipers and measure it for me before i buy it
one the tape is on the ring..... as per instruction... it fits back in and thats it, you can't put it anywhere else, as its in possition.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecoratorthat was confusing cuz manufacturer is showing 1mm gap somehow. thank you, now i fully understand
Gaps too big for me. Machine is too big to follow surface undulations so you’ll get inconsistent gaps. Stick to hand taping much faster and you can follow any undulations.
After investigation i can see between 6:55 and 7:29 that the ring is sticking out of your tape so the tape cant roll flat on cover and thats the cause of 3mm gap. Manufacturer manual is showing flat surface between tape and ring. Im buying this
Did you watch at 5:16 where I press the centre ring into the tape in a flat surface?
@@ProfessionalPainterDecoratoryea, also that when you flip it and then flip it and cut video and 6:49 in 0.25 speed when you flip it for the last time. I see 2mm. Busted!
@@wykonczeni you've lost me. Buy one and let us know how you get on.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I think I follow what wykonczeni was seeing. When the ring is pushed into the tape while on a flat surface, you want the "flat surface" side of the tape/ring combo to be your reference edge and wind up against the removable cover of the tool. There was a jump cut at one point and I couldn't be certain after the final flip to get the sticky side down whether that "reference edge" was up against the removable cover to be closest to the wall. It MIGHT have been but I couldn't tell for sure. Anyway, I think that's what the commenter was asking about. Still, I appreciate the follow-up on the original review.
Seems a faff and i wont buy one but good demo thanks Boss man.
You can’t seem to get less than 1mm gap.
on their website there's a video of one of their guys putting it on the glass. And this video shows the huge gap between the wood and the tape on the glass. The idea is good but it doesn't work. Masking MAster.
well I've struggled with it.
“Masking masker”?
Not a fan, its far quicker just doing it the old fashioned way. This just seems like a gimmick to me lol.
Far too much gap for my liking I’m afraid… just as easy and better if just using take to press the side of the tape against that side and do the same… think it’s an overrated gimmick for me
If you look at top of unit it’s slightly wider right at the top then comes in, if he’d started below that slight lip then the tape would have been closer all the way down
Massive gap! Not for me Jeff.
No good bud at all 👎
Ok possible for glass paint overlap on glass 👍🏻
Old school (free hand) my self
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Gap too big
Should run it on the unit side this way optically would work … still a gimmick
don't think I'll bother lol
Dude, you started to pull against the trim of your cabinet!!! you started the gap at the top and it adjusted by the time it reached the base board. You are wrong and should correct your mistake. It is very obvious.
You realize you started at the trim right?
Trim?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator there's a trim piece on that cabinet not equal to the whole side of the cabinet. You started high where it was not flat.
@@Jc22345 it's flush to the side of the cabinet though
@ it’s not where you started your line. Do you want to look at your own video to see how much that trim sticks out?
@@Jc22345 I'm looking at it while eating my tea lol so don't need to watch the video.
What are you getting at though?
