Behr use to have a color called Candlelight it was a beautiful yellow and she can use museum putty to hold the vases on the mantle.

My discoveries this week... I made a bird bath from a tall roman style pedestal ($12) paired w/ a large brown studded earthenware bowl from Ghana ($6).
Turning over piles of brush in the shade garden revealed lots of bugs and crawly critters, which invited a MINK 😲 and a brown thrasher to the feast. 😍

The great thing about these you tubers is you don't need to have the same style. You can learn from them anyway and definitely be inspired! I've watched so many different ones and learn so much but mama Brooke is my fave now. Even tho we are a little different in style we still have a lot in common. Just ran across your videos a month or so ago. You have inspired me to continue to work on my home. The only thing is I live alone in a 4 bedroom house. Wow! How lucky is Lori to how found a friend like you! Just like that, your ideas, like the butter yellow fireplace, will make that 50s mantel stand out. I think the window payne display cabinet that you told Lori to paint in blue would look great where fireplace is filled in blue and white dishes and a few of those books. She has beautiful stuff it just needs some Mama Brooke style. I'm so happy you're bringing us along. So far, my favorite video on your channel has been the Ralph Lauren inspired room on a budget . I loved the Peter Rabbit plates! When my grandson was born, I did his bedroom at my house with a Peter Rabbit theme. But he's nine now and we've done hockey. I was at the thrift store yesterday but left empty handed. I just didn't see anything I could use. I like the blue and yellow for Lori. I worked for the French company Pierre Deux as a designer (my occupation) and we had the most beautiful yellow and blue Indienne prints in fabric and accessories. They were some of my favorites. Can't wait to see what you do for her!

Hi Brooke, on your second day of shopping you picked up a brass item that you didn't know what it was, and suggested that it might be an incense burner. I don't know if anyone has told you yet, but that is an ink well for a bottle of ink, and the tray part in front is for fountain pens to lay down in front of the ink container, for a writing desk. Victorian style.

The white bottle by the cow is moonstone. I collect it. I have almost all pieces. It was made by Anchor Hocking. It was sold in Woolworth stores

The thrifting selection in Canada is really impressive. I thrift in the U.S.A but Mama you just might be in the thrifting capitol of the world. Nice finds and I wish I had your talent to see how to visualize colors and positioning of items. I just moved from a Victorian type home to a ranch,. I feel like when I thrift, I am cluttering my home with things and it's making it difficult to find my way through what I should put in this house, I feel cluttered with finds and the furniture is just not me here. Your video was chock full of good viewing. I have to contain myself when thrifting and your assessment of what to take and leave behind is helping me to think when I am out looking. The finds today were very nice. Bravo.

I've just moved and I have lots of stuff. Not as much as Lori but I'm still having a hard time placing everything. I just feel so funny calling you mama Brooke when I'm so much older than you! Love your gardens so beautiful. I do miss the space I had for several gardens and miss my variety of plants but I'll get it pulled together. Except for my shade garden -- seems like all four sides are mostly sun. Miss my hostas esp. Peonies are favorite of mine too. I will have some next yr! Thx for taking us along on your adventure!

I love b/w & blue/white & even though it's kinda hard mixing those colors in my home, I still still make it work & I love it. I can't get over the fabrics your friend has!! My guest bathrm shower curtain is the same as your friend's framed fabric(have matching towels, etc too) & the b/w fabrics she gave u is like the fabrics I used in my master bathrm for my window treatment. How ironic is that?! lol If she's not sure what she really wants w her blue/white, I highly recommend Pinterest. I use pink flowers w my blue/white chinoiserie pieces & it's beautiful. Enjoyed the shopping trip! Oh, I think that one brass piece u picked up was a vintage ink well & pen holder. It was beautiful!
