Modbus is a data communications protocol originally published by Modicon (now Schneider Electric) in 1979 for use with its programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Modbus has become a de facto standard communication protocol and is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices.
Modbus is popular in industrial environments because it is openly published and royalty-free. It was developed for industrial applications, is relatively easy to deploy and maintain compared to other standards, and places few restrictions - other than the datagram (packet) size - on the format of the data to be transmitted.

This guy really makes it easy to understand Modbus and it’s configurations. Breaks it all down into simple terms we can all comprehend. This is by far the best video on the topic I have found. Thank you for helping us all out and greatly appreciate you sharing this!
Masha Allah ... very well explained ! Jazaak Allahu Khayran Bro. 💐
very good basic video for modbus.
Your videos are absolutely brilliant!
Thank you for sharing.
Greatly appreciated. 🇦🇺
Another well explained video. It never goes wrong when a video is very helpful in understanding of a concept or protocol being explained in a simple to understand way to grasp the concept in basic understanding and you did that very well here. I understand what Modbus is, but i'll admit i'm also not closed minded at all in that someone else can explain it in a different way and i get a whole different understanding in my mind core or what I thought I understand, now understanding it much better. Such is learning.
after long time clearly understand modbus protocol. thanx sir
After a long time i cleared my confusion of Modbus
Great explanation - thanks very much!
I know nothing about communications protocols, but this video has helped to answer some basic questions and give me a basic understanding.
Best Explanation! Thank You!
Detail and clear explanation
Hats off for your explanation!!! You know how to explain! Subscribed to IT and Automation Academy! Keep up the excellent work!
What a clear explanation! Amazing!!
I will wait for next video. Thanks this video very helpful for us.
Excellent effort to explain Modbus. Waiting for upcoming videos👍🏻
just wow wow wow excellent thank you for this video
Nice explanation. Thanks sir
Thank you for a great explanation.
well explain
Outstanding description.. thanks a lot 👍
Jazakallah Brother!
In several references, they said that In Modbus TCP/IP, the server is the field devices that provide data after the PLC (client) sends a command. This is the opposite of what you described. Can you explain this more? Thank you so much.
It is well explained difference
Very nice bro keep going
Good luck ERPIS ERP and MES-IOT Solutions
Great video ; thank you so much !
Hai brother
You r doing great job.... Thanks
Many thanks.
Very informative . I want to know about the modubus repeater . What is that device ?
If have only one of cootroller it mean not need to use protocal?
It cas use only 4-20 mA signal?
Please explain to me 😮
Very nice explained
I am pretty new to IoT, This video gave me lot of information ❤.
Could you do a video to connect to an AWS IoT using Modbus Protocol.
Holding registers or analog outputs that are for Modbus master or slave devices?
Good
Wait for next part❤
You are really superb for me...Thank you is not enough....Love from my bottom of the heart....
Glad it was helpful!
new subsciber always watching your videos ver interesting
👌👍👌
Thankyou
Very good explanation
Glad it was helpful!
Kind sir is it good to learn deep learning for automation?
I must learn deep learning for master degree in automation but I couldn't find a relevant subject on automation
Is there any reference for relation between deep learning and automation
Can you give me your website for the courses you make?
Great work sir.. plz make videos on whole industrial networks like device net, profibus etc .plzz
Ok sure
Thanks ❤️
Mashallah
❤
Nice sir, how to connect modbus rs485 to three cables
Thanking you.
Can you please explain Internet cable and ethernet cable
Sure will create one in future
@@ITandAutomationAcademy Thank
Salaam what is can bus protocol?
Sir please guide me to learn automation step by step from A to Z from absolutely beginner level to professional level
Very helpful 👍
Hello! I send a data packet "slave func data srs16", but the result is this signal "00 slave func data srs16". Why do two zeros appear?
How can you differentiate Profibus and ModBus? Since Profibus also follows Rs-485
With profibus you can only connect 125 devices in segment while with modbus you are able to connect almost 245 devices at a time.
-profibus and modbus both follow serial communication protocol.
- both are two wired
- modbus rtu and profibus dp is master slave.
-both are asynchronous
-baud rate of profibus start from 9.6kbps to 12 Mbps. Varies with length or use repeater.
S.300 PLC with lenze 9400 drives and many load cells and e/p neumatics
Slesher / ropedying machines in denim dying machine.
modbus RTU is similar to profibus protocol?
Mashallah brother! ur videos are very informative keep going! I actually wanted ur suggestion regarding this field.
I'm currently working in wipro pari as a controls engineer n I'm planning to do my masters in Germany. I just graduated last year, nd I'm confused if I shd go to Dubai n gain experience or first complete masters n den go to Dubai.pls suggest
Gain some experience in same company and after that plan masters
Please explain noman Sahab.
Where are you from
Can this protocol send floating data?
Yes
What Function Code we use for floating data?
@@muhalfiya Function code is 16.
Floating values are 32 bit. Modbus supports 16-bit word registers. So u need 2 16-bit registers
Listen it in 1.25x. Thanks me later.
I listened at 2x..
I sent this videos she doesn’t understand what I do is very stressful as technician
