Girl Named Tom on Small Town Beginnings to 'The Voice' Win

- Siblings Caleb, Joshua, and Bekah Liechty, better known as Girl Named Tom, were recently crowned the first ever trio to win "The Voice." They talked to Ellen about their humble beginnings in their small town and how they were able to celebrate with their dad who is currently battling cancer. They then took the stage to perform a cover of "Carolina in My Mind" by James Taylor.

They were my favorite at the first audition to win. Best Voice winner in recent years! I hope they will become a Household name, unlike many others faded away.

They are! My son and Caleb were roommates at their college during their Freshman year. They were in music groups together.

Frankly, I'm concerned about the opposite: that the naysayers, cynics, and trolls grind them down enough to discourage and embitter them. The music business is hard enough as it is without the attacks and insults. Breaking through is very tough. They've followed their calling thus far -- to bring harmony to a broken world -- and I pray that they will stay the course! Love GNT and wish them the very best!
I Saw Girl Name Tom tonight, January 29,2022, at the Holland Theatre in Bellefonatine, Ohio where the trio put on an amazing concert. Honestly, I don't know how they were able to keep it together because their father, Chris, passed away just two nights ago on January 27, 2022. Such professionalism from these beautiful, young artists. God bless them all.

Finally A Group wins after 21 seasons
If you guys notice, the three siblings has all tones together: She has the higher pitches, the long hair has the middles and the older one has the lowers. Put it all together, and you have all ranges covered.
Good point, Geraldo. Except that there is no alto voice (lower female range). Bekah covers the soprano range; Joshua, the tenor range; Caleb, the baritone/bass range. To your point, though, they put it all together beautifully! Thanks!

They were performing last night in my town and I actually got to meet them and get a photo with them. They are the nicest people you will ever meet.

Wasn't the song they were planning on singing on the Ellen show. The song they were going to sing didn't get approved because it had a biblical reference to it so they had to come up with 5 - 2 minute segments of songs in order to get one approved. They said, "I guess that's Hollywood!"

I attended a concert of their's tonight, 1.29.22 and they told the story at the concert of how they thought they had the music nailed down and they were most concerned with the interview/talking bit, when it was the music they needed to be concerned about. 🤣🤣

They are amazing. Not only are they incredible musicians, they all plan on becoming doctors, but college is currently on hold (Caleb and Joshua have already gotten their degrees in biochemistry and Bekah plans on following them plus they minored in music), and their music teacher at college was cheering them on also. When their dad was diagnosed with cancer they chose to remain at home through his journey.
