  • Granger Smith Podcast Episode 140: The world tells you that having a baby is the most exciting and exhilarating moment of your life... And you don't have to believe that. The world tells you that because they're looking back on their experience. But in the moment, it's a lot more scary than it is exciting... And it does not make you a bad parent to feel that way. Wow,,, awesome podcast. I too have suffered loss of family members..... I tell anyone who has / is going to suffer loss.... there is no way to prepare for it and when it does happen.... you don't "get over it",, I tell people you can "get around it"... you will grieve and as Granger says , If you loved a lot, you WILL grieve a LOT... LOT! It's very hard but know there WILL be a brighter / better day ahead. A blue sky will show itself to you... it just will take time. Best of luck and Warm Wishes to anyone out there that endures loss!

You are exactly correct...I love how God's word is intwind with a slight sense of humor but brings a force of the word that moves all through the body

This was an amazing "answer your questions" episode . LOADED with hard truths which you look at with both feet planted on the ground of experience. I am not christian but your answers were so honest and raw truth I hung on every word. thanks for this. You have the GIFT.

Natasha: I’m in flight school right now as a Marine Corps Officer. Wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have. I’m also good friends with multiple female Marine Corps flight school students who love their job. I wish you all the best.

Marios story hit me. I woke up to my parents home on fire. I got my siblings out and safe but it's hard figuring out how to navigate after that. Immediately after I became a volunteer wildland firefighter and I don't like to admit it but I'm a little scared to respond. I don't want to be so close to the heat and the smoke again. I don't want to be trapped in the chaos and the noise of the fire. But I do it anyways because I have to. We keep people safe that can't rely on the city fire departments that're hours away. Sometimes I have dreams that I'll open my bedroom door and, just like then, I am met with flames feet from my face. It's not easy going through that, and Mario if you're here on this video I feel for you. I understand and you are not alone. Be strong brother

You have such great advice. When I miscarried twins, people wondered why it was so easy for me to detach from the babies. I was going through a lot at the time and was a victim of SA. Because of this, I suffered numerous health issues and the pregnancy just made it worse. The babies had a 90% chance of some type of serious ailment due to twin to twin transfusion syndrome. I had high stress, heart issues, and arthritis. On top of all of that, the "dad" wanted me to get an abortion because if they couldn't play basketball with him, then they were basically useless to him as a child. So to say I was happy to have miscarried may sound bad to some, but it meant that a horrible part of my life was over and I could begin to heal. and boy did I ever...and I never looked back! Love your messages sir! You are amazing.

Additional Suggestions for Natasha: She should make sure she gets the best grades and physical condition possible and strongly consider applying and getting accepted to the Naval Academy. That would be the best way to get accepted to the Navy/Marines Pilot Program and get one of the Best Educations in the World. To get accepted to the Naval Academy she will have to Extra Curricular Activities that would make her stand out. If there's a small airfield in her area she should make contacts and attempt to get a job or even volunteer to get some aircraft experience. Also NOW is the time to go down to the Navy/Marine Recruiting Office to find out everything she needs to do to get accepted to the Naval Academy and start to get some contacts that will need get accepted. Getting known to a member of her congressional representative will also help. Hope you can get this advice and others to Natasha.

Great advice! I'd prefer she speak to someone with experience like she wants instead of a recruiter, because they'll lie and tell you what you want to hear, but I agree it's the perfect time to do research and start getting involved moving towards that career if she's really serious about it.

I will never understand the whole worrying about the parents disowning their child for having a child out of wedlock. You are expecting, their being disappointed won't change that and they can just deal with it or they won't have anything to do with your child and your child will be better without toxic people like that in his/her life.

    A New Creature ~ Thomas Watson ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17
A ship can be sailing eastward but, if there comes a gale of wind, it blows it westward. So, before a man sailed hell-ward and, all of a sudden, the Spirit of God comes upon him and blows him heavenward.
