Why Turkey's $200 Million Castles are Abandoned

  • In the small Turkish town of Mudurnu, sits over 500 Abandoned Castles called Burj Al Babas. These castles were constructed in 2014, but have been abandoned without being completed. Throughout the video, I explain why this incredible project was never completed, the struggles the developer went through throughout the project, and what will happen to this project in the future.
    Turkey is a middle eastern country which is known for incredible landscapes and borders the Mediterranean sea. In 2014, developers saw a unique opportunity to build a large community of luxury housing to attract Arabian investors to the area. Due to many problems throughout the years after the project was started, the project was left completely abandoned a few short years after it was started.

    If they are serious about finishing the project, they need to start by at least bulldozing every other or every two of those homes. How the hell you gunna have mansions elbow to elbow??? Plant some damn trees too while you're at it. Then revamp the remaining ones to differ from each other. I dunno who thought they could just copy/paste like that like it's a simulator game.

    I live in a Victorian terraced house build in 1860. It was obviously finished but it was built for economy at the time. Physically joint to its neighbours and separated by one brick from its neighbour. Only two beds it is not in London but valued at £280,000. Where I live is not glamorous or picturesque yet these houses are never empty. So strange to compare.

    There are youtubers who explore abandoned places, and this was one of the places they went to. When you look at these structures up close it is shocking how shoddy the construction actually is. And they are all apparently identical and packed together like sardines. There is no way that wealthy people were actually going to live there even if it had been completed.
    It seems more like some sort of giant scam carried out by someone from a blue collar origin who did not understand what wealthy people actually want than anything else.

      This is nothing. China has entire neighborhoods TEN times the size of this place all sitting and they've been abandoned for several years. Think about it: TEN times the size. And that's just one neighborhood in China. There are several McMansion neighborhoods that have been abandoned or unfinished as their real estate market continues to crumble.

    Only ignorant people ever say "very unique". It's the same as saying "very dead".
    Something can be unique, or not. It is a definitive.

    • @wordsofcheresie936
      @wordsofcheresie936 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      People like you have been saying this for many decades and not one of you sounds intelligent. This is same as the word "pregnant". In one sense, you are either pregnant or you are not pregnant but people say "she is very pregnant" all the time. Are they speaking nonsense? No the word "very" means that the woman has many more indicators of pregnancy. A woman who is four weeks pregnant is not very pregnant, but a woman who is in her 39th week is very pregnant. In the same way, every one of the castles in the video is unique because on the microscopic scale each one has all sort of differences and if you mapped out the slight imperfections, you could tell each one apart because each one is unique. However, if one of the castles was three times as large and made of solid gold, then it would be very unique.

    • @wordsofcheresie936
      @wordsofcheresie936 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To address the word "dead", a person who died three seconds ago and looks to be in perfect condition is not very dead. On the other hand, a person who died seven days ago in hot weather and has now been almost completely consumed by maggots is very dead. You simply do not know how language works.
