In the early 1970's the late great Mr Valla Kisten sang this song live in a sketch at the Broadway Cinema, Mount Edgecombe. He took the part of a beggar who was shunned by world but in his desperation the beggar cries out for peace at the foot of the cross. His brother Siva Kiston took the part of Jesus crucified on the cross. This performance left the audience spellbound and was the talk of the town for many years.
