    I bought a board and it had a bit of a finish so I made sure to sand it some. No matter what my torch paste does not get darker. I’m using a heat gun with a very high temp las well.

    Which kind of application tape are you using? I went to the shop but counted figure out which one you used exactly. Seems to be better for that kind of project then the transfer tape normally used for vinyl.

    Thank you. I’ve been using Torch Paste for two weeks on wood! I didn’t know you could use it on “card stock”? Wow🤗. This is probably a stupid question but could you successfully use it and burn on “fabric “, without putting it on fire? Thank you

    I use ikonart stencils. You can do 10 of those boards one after the other. And you can't just use any old heat gun like a craft gun as it's not hot enough. 1000watts + is recommended.

    Thanks for the video. Would you be able to do the wood cutting board with the heat press as well if you do not have a heat gun? Thanks

    • @JGElectronicsSA
      @JGElectronicsSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can use your heat press. Preferably a swing away as thicker items will not work well in a clamshell.

    can the ladle and cutting board be used in contact with food after using the torch paste or is it toxic? is the burnt effect lasting or does it tend to fade over time? Thanks

    • @sandrarebeles769

      you are actually burning off the paste (it is the fuel used by the heat to burn). once you have reached the desired darkness, the color should remain.

    If you left the stencil the adhesive on the stencil sticks to the box and you then can’t get the stencil off

    How do you seal the cutting board so you can actually use it?

    • @JGElectronicsSA
      @JGElectronicsSA  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, you can simply finish it off and seal it by applying food-grade cutting board / butcher block mineral oil before using it. You can purchase this at any hardware store.

    Why not leave the stencil on while heating to minimize discoloring/burning to the surrounding area? Or would it melt the stencil? Thanks.

    • @JGElectronicsSA
      @JGElectronicsSA  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, we would recommend to remove the stencil after the torch paste has dried completely, before heat burning it with a heat gun. If the stencil is left on it would melt and could damaged the torch paste on the wood as well as the wooden product.

      Since you're taking the stencil off. Does it have to be stencil vinyl. Could you not use ordinary vinyl?

    Will charcoal powder fall off and blacken the edges if rubbed?

    • @JGElectronicsSA
      @JGElectronicsSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After you burned it, you can rub it with a dry cloth and if there was black powder that smeared, you can just wipe it off. You can then coat it with a butcher block mineral oil.

    • @JGElectronicsSA
      @JGElectronicsSA  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Yes it can be food grade, when using Torch paste or Xylo paste wood burning gels on this genuine bamboo cutting board, pizza board or any other genuine bamboo products, we would recommend that you should finish it off by applying food-grade cutting board / butcher block mineral oil to make it food safe before use. Thank you
