Well you don’t actually know that though. I’ve heard what sounds like a giant woman screaming bloody murder in the pitch black night in western NC, and it did sound like this sweet baby in the video.
Red foxes sound the most like it to me. Came out of my house 3am with a metal bat ready to be a hero lol only for two foxes on my mulch mound to be king of the hill matching and screaming lol

Search and Listen to a mountain lion . I think that may be much closer to what you heard. Anyone that’s actually heard Mt Lion has same reaction and feelings you described. And yes it’s on another level . Lived on Ranch and never saw one because fewer back in my day and they stayed in high country. Yes, this gal is definitely mild to a Mt Lion!
I live in a large neighborhood in Georgia, and one winter we were serenaded by Bobcast each night. Although we never saw them in the daytime, in the early hours of the morning we heard them walking the streets.
I'm glad I saw this so I will know that what I hear is maybe not a screaming woman! You add in a fox and a mountain lions scream and those cold chills will have cold chills.😮
Twice I've heard them scream miles and years apart. Once in northeast Oklahoma, once in southeast Kansas. Both times I was on horseback. I felt the hose quiver both times, glad neither horse bolted.
They make many types of sounds but this sound is calling for a mate. Just heard one on my property tonight for the first time ever. The Bobcat is my spirit animal, very independent and highly intelligent.

I was at Sonora in Arizona and when the big cat there was in heat, people ran!🥺 It was scary.
