    Glad to see some Acrygel or in U.S. Polygel tutorials! I can’t do a lot of acrylic with the smell in my house so I am working more with polygel and wanting to do more gel. Love the simple look. For this set.

    • @abigailxmary
      @abigailxmary 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Acrylgel isn’t a UK name for the product just like polygel isn’t an American name for the product, it’s dependent on brand

    • @MrsJolene-
      @MrsJolene- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@abigailxmary I think acrygel is the name of the product, as it's something that gets quite hard, sturdy like acrylic but is in a gel before curing. So properties of both, hence the name.
      Polygel is a brand, a big and famous name in some countries, so lots of people call it that.

      I didn't start out ambidextrous but 30+ years of being a nail tech and doing my own nails weekly, it was just a natural progression. I guess it doesn't happen to everyone so I feel lucky that I can use both hands for everything, even writing.

    So you rock with the gels too Kirsty!. Beautiful colour and shape. I bet it's the glitter in it adding to the heat spike.

    • @MrsJolene-
      @MrsJolene- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The glitter has nothing to do with it. It's the amount of product. I use acrygel all the time, but mostly with a base coat, and I noticed that it burns more when you use a thicker layer of basecoat or no base, just a thick layer of acrygel, that's always thick because you need to create an apex and some thickness for strength.
      Uv curing is a exothermic reaction, meaning that for it to go from fluid to hard, it emits heat, so the more product, the more heat.
      I also usually use clear on myself, as I like to see the colour through the nail on the underside. It burns just the same, no matter the color or glitter.

    You should invent some brushes that don't roll around, that's my pet hate, putting your brush down and it rolling usually off the table. I do have a candle holder I use as a dampen dish which has a curved top so can put your brush on that between uses, but I only use it for acrylics. I know there's holders out there but why not have an actual set of brushes that don't roll. ie either square or something on the handle to stop it rolling. Love that colour

    • @SusanIvanova2257
      @SusanIvanova2257 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Cuticle care bits are typically diamond bits. Not sure if it's even possible to get appropriate bits out of ceramic. I've never seen ceramic bits that would have been safe to use on the natural nail, they're always meant to file product. If you want to learn about dry manicure I highly recommend the webinar from Nailcou and The Nailhub, both have very in depth videos here on TH-cam. Let's hope Kirsty makes an in depth video about it eventually!

Or is it worth using up? I’ve also noticed models we haven’t seen you work with in ages suddenly reappear, which is what prompted my question of, “Is the missing brand rubbish?” I’m not looking for any info other than bin it or keep it. If you get a heat spike, just press your thumb/finger tips downwards, the heat spikes are because the product cures to the nail and stiffens, so it creates a pulling sensation on your nailbed. Just push down into your tips and it will disappear :)

    I'm left handed but use my right hand for various activities such as using scissors and so on. I'm surpsingly good at my non dominant hand! I think even more so than my left hand! Surprised me lol

    I’m so confused.. you say it’s pretty much polygel but why is the title say hard gel? You even said in the video it’s not hard gel and it’s not acrylic.. it’s right in the middle which is polygel 🤷🏼‍♀️and you don’t use that solution with hard gel to keep pressing the product.. I think the title should to be changed to either polygel or hybrid gel.. the title really confused me lol took my 3/4 of the way threw the video to finally understand what you were using lol but it’s still a gorgeous set no matter what product you used lol thanks for sharing guys 😁😁

      Tbh this product looks like a combination between hard gel & polygel. Less viscous than some polygels, with some properties of hard gel.

      I think polygel is trademarked by gelish right?

      @@CryTides ya I know you technically can’t call it polygel or like acrygel since that’s Naios.. but that’s pretty much what it is.. that’s why I also said hybrid gel.. but that’s definitely not HARD GEL LOL that I do kno lol

    Do you have a salon, and where in the UK are you? I've only just found you on TH-cam, and it makes a nice change to find an English person, I've usually only seen either Americans, Russians or Chinese.
