- Hi everybody and welcome to the Kirsty Meakin show!
Today we have in Fay, poor fay has had on gel polish so we have taken that off and we are going to give her some real nails using YoungNails products! Let’s get cracking.
I have already prepped and all that good stuff I put on some NailGaga ballerina tips now I’m going to clean over with the Gaelic Prep & Clean we will be using The YoungNails acrylic system so I'll get my YN Nail Liquid ready.
Ok, let's do this I have here the Young Nails Speed Clear and the Cover Rose Bud but first I have to prime these nails, and to do that I have the legendary Protein Bond acid-free Primer ill apply two coats just to the natural nail.
Let's Apply the product ill by doing some smile lines some ombre’s just to get this design going and I’m using the YN Cover Rose Bud then ill give them a little pinch.
Now I have this gorgeous Blueberry Mint Mylar from Young Nails and I’m going to pair it with this loverly Glitter from Lecente called Angel Multi Glitz glitter, ill lay down a little bead of the YN Speed Clear just to give my Glitters something to stick to and the ill stick them at the cuticle.
Now back on the Cover Rose Bud lets ombre over the glitter then we can cap that with the YN Speed Clear and I’m going to finish the application using the same products just in slightly different ways duck.
Now I’m going to go over with my E-file and take off any bulk then ill use my metal fine and make sure my side walls are nice and straight then ill use my hand file to refine the shape and then ill give them a buff just to make them nice and smooth.
Ok, let's give these a wipe over with some of the Gelica Prep & Clean get rid of that dust so we can then put on some Chrome powder duck but first we need to topcoat and I’m using the Gelica Topcoat, ok now we're going to cure the topcoat but were going to under cure it because we're putting the Chrome Powder on so 40 seconds in the lamp go!
Ok so I have a few Chrome Powders here I have Interstellar by Nailchemy and I also have a pink one and a green one from Nailed By Lucie I’m going to burnish some of each of these all over these nails
Now I’m going to do some floral artwork on these using the Katie Ashe black Gel Paint I’ve mixed in a little of the Gelica Topcoat just to make it a little thinner in consistency when that’s done cure it then we will give our live work the chrome treatment.
Alright, let's dust off and give these a final Topcoat to seal everything in and that’s it!

I think you should do a challenge video with Fay where she has to be blindfolded until the end of the video and she can't have any knowledge of what kind of nails you are doing. Lol I don't think she would be able to make it till the end without ripping the blindfold off lol. But I do think it would be fun to watch. If you pop the hand in the lamp for a few seconds between the two coats of Protein Bond it gives even better adhesion 😊

Oooooh, definitely going to try that! I love my Protein Bond but I have 2 nails on my dominant hand that I consistently have small lifting issues with. Maybe this tip will help! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

OMG, when Adam said the flower like design looked like a butterfly at first I swear I heard "butt flag" and him asking Faye if she wanted a butt flag on her nails. I didn't realize he said "butterfly" until she said she didn't mind butterflies. Which makes a ton more sense, lol. Sorry Adam!

I usually enjoy the banter between you two because it reminds me of how my Mom and I act when we're together, and how my husband and I act together. With that being said, her saying that she didn't have faith in your ideas......that was a bit much. I assume that you guys are actually friends and your banter is just how your friendship is (that's how some of my friendships are), but there is a line with me, and that crossed it. There's a difference between making a smartass comment toward your friends and making blantant asshole comments. Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm the only one who thinks that her comment was uncalled for, but that's what I think. Especially when you've never steered her wrong. 🙄
Anyway........this set is absolutely my favorite out of every one that I have seen so far! It is beyond stunning! 😍😍😍

Absolutely stunning. Those flowers with the chrome colours on top looked totally out of this world. I felt sad that Fay didn't have more faith in your artistry.
I absolutely love the designs that you do especially on Faye's nails. You do beautiful work and I'd totally love to meet you one day.
Oh I did similar nails back in May/June but without the flower designs. I called them my mermaid scale nails because I thought that's what they looked like with all the iridescent glitter and chrome. 🧜♀️ that or maybe unicorn skin. 🦄

Hey Kirsty!! I use YN products. YN acrylics are designed to be self level. Instead of sweeping it down the nail like polish, just pat it down the nail with your brush to the free edge. Because it self levels, you get a smoother surface and you can guide the acrylic without brushing it off the tip. Greg has some tutorials on his TH-cam channel. I used YN's products all through nail school. I watched your tutorials and Greg's tutorials everyday. Thank you for teaching me my profession!!❤💗💕

These are so beautiful 😍 I agree with Kirsty doing the art work on not all of the nails would've made the artwork stand out more actually. The artwork may have taken away from some of the nails, like the thumb nail personally I think looked stunning without the artwork. I love the way Kirsty doesn't think much of her artwork but to me I'm like 🤯😍 wow so beautiful, and done with such ease! Kirsty truly is so talented 💖
