    I love the style of drawing the back wall and not just the room outlines. Looks really cool :P

    Very nice! I love that the well is part of their hideout because when people make a wish by throwing a penny in the well they have no idea they’re supporting their local thieves!

    You started flipping through the Neverland book, and I just wanted to punch myself in the face...because of the awesomeness.

      @@JPCoovert I ordered it, got it over the weekend, and like...I'm still hung-over from the awesomeness. A friend had thrown the idea at me of building a TTRPG around Narnia's mythos, and The Wood Between the Worlds, etc - and this book is SO inspiring. It answers a bunch of, "yeah, but how would...?" questions I had over the idea, and now I'm all pumped up to think on all this.

      Did you ever find any good tutorials on this? I've looked and it feels really hopeless, unless you intend to add contrast with color. I really like the dyson logos variant, but I can find nothing that I feel that is suitable to delineate a bag of grain unless you try and make the similar isometric view as in this video.

    Been loving your style for drawing after discovering your channel while looking at mapping for my group. Once you find your style I'd love to see more maps with mini tutorials on how to draw the "filler" items, for example the tables, shelving, barrels, etc. If that's even possible lol, great stuff, keep it up!

    Any lair should have at least the essentials of the adverage home:
    play room=training room
    Bed rooms=bunk beds
    Bath room=(just that)
    Kitchen/dining/map and plan
    Cellar=supply storage
    Attic=guard post
    Fresh water supply
    Garage=repair/tinkers'table
    Treasure room
    Front+back doors/secret entrance
    Access should be available through normal entries, swimming fresh water source, or crawling sewer.

      It's an amazing study in layout, sandbox building and running, timers, readable/table ready stat blocks, random tables, not to mention it's pretty.

    Can you make a tutorial about drawing maps with textures? Im a designer and i make my art with a lot of textures. It would be super cool if i could do it for my map drawings too. And i think that would be awesome looking. Thanks from now if you could make it.

  • @robot7759

    Like your style 👍
    However when I think of thieves/roques hideouts each room should have multiple exits? Just a personal preference 😊. Especially when underground just a single entrance/exit wouldn't feel quite comfortable, now would it? You'll do it your way, I'll do it mine, it's all good. To me it's more of a maze, like in the typical mansion in a crime movie with trapdoors in every room and hallways hidden in walls...

    ok, so Legit GM question - how do you use these small maps during a game. Do you use it only for your reference? Do you enlarge and print out portions for little scenes and encounters? I LOVE maps, but I often feel like they are designed primarily for the DM/GM and was just curious what you do and recommend? Thanks JP!

    • @JPCoovert
      @JPCoovert  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      YES! Right now my game is over discord and theater of the mind style, so I just use it for reference. I've definitely imported them into Roll 20 (See Ettercap Lair video) or printed out the individual rooms to piece together for actual table top play. I've also redrawn stuff on a big wet erase grid mat I have too. Hope that helps!
