If we have good eye habits then we're probably impacting our overall health of our bodies. The body is a whole thing and all the parts have impacts on the other parts. Being outside often can improve mood and help with depression. Relax the eyes, relax the mind, and body. Etc etc. Healing the eyes is an amazing thing. It impacts more than eye health!
Amazing that I never thought 💭 to think that. Like when your in a bad mood and if your just smile.. after a few minutes your mood will lift. My eyes have been around 1.75 1.5 for 25 years but I only ever wear glasses for driving at night and my eyes never got worse... but I always feel half asleep in the day ... hmm 🤔
I live on Singapore. I was born here and have lived here my whole life. I am 16 with -8.75 on my left and -7.50 on my right. It is very COMMON to see someone my age or even younger with my eyesight. Astigmatism is also very prevalent here. Some of us can’t even see the traffic light in the morning when we are going to school. Most of us wear glasses for those 2 reasons above, even if we play sports a lot. Yet, we are meant to study all day with little time outside. Even during PE (in my case) we just stay inside the indoor sports hall to play sports. We get eye checks every single year, but it really doesn’t do much other than tell you you’re eye sight is bad. I’ve been using distance glasses in class and when using the computer without realising the harm of it. Now that i know what’s causing my myopia i’m excited to fix it. I’ve started my journey yesterday. However it’s going to be hard to convince any of the opticians in my area to help in this journey because they all like to give the highest degree possible to correct distance(even though we’re a concrete jungle, don’t even need distance glasses in the first place). I hope i can even -0.25 for both my eyes this year wearing my old glasses.
James and Jake, many thanks for the very inspiring video. James, you mentioned that it was important to deal properly with the close up stuff. What exactly did you do here?
"Can I trust you?" "No!" I am still laughing! 🔝😂..Jake you're the best! I've been in the medical field and I've always hated people coming to me to have the "magic quick fix"
He has some paid things. Plus if you have enough, why not do something for the sake of doing it if it's the right thing to do? His pursuit is much more noble than he makes it out to be, if only people would listen.
Brother Jake, most people say we should not wear glasses that long if you want our sight to improve! I have high myopia, what would you advice me on that???
Did he have astigmatism?? I would love to hear more about people that have high myopia and astigmatism and the history of when they were able to drop CYLs throughout the journey.
This would be a dream come true if my -3.00 went down to -1.00 I’m so tired of my eyesight. I’ve been prescribed with special glasses and now I have to wear them full time and the optometrists keep saying how I have to wear them for close up things and I said it strains my eyes though and I don’t need them for close up things. I was -3.00 in 2022 then left eye got worse in 2024 and it’s -3.05
@@jeremiah5226 @dipsomania0 I always wish these people who have excellent drop rates would post how much they dropped every 6 months - 1 year to give people a sense of when they took off the most. Normally you can take almost 2 off the first year if you have high myopia, but showing this data would help people have reasonable expectations.
Last year I had a -6 in right eye and -1.25 in left I did have strabismus from too much close up and atm I’m at 5.50 and .75 in left eye no strabismus , I will try to work on that right eye but it’s very hard to active focus with both eye since I’m only seeing 1 side of my eye which is the good eye
Sir my age is 17.5 yrs and I have -1.25D on right and -1 D on left astigmatism on each side of eye how can I correct it in 2 month and should I have to wear glasses all the time
Low myopia advice to improve your eyesight is not to wear any glasses at all and do the fundamentals of endmyopia, but maybe yeah drop .25 to both eyes. I have exactly the same diopters as you and it’s not THATBAD let’s be honest
Most are overprescribed as others have said - think about how the Opt "doctor" does the testing. In a dark room! And if the lights are on it's poor lighting and your face is stuffed into a machine. Even if they're just having you read an eye chart with the lights on, measure the lumens in your room and it's dismal compared to the sun/being outside.
It's pretty reasonable really. Up to 30% comes off in the first 3-6 months between overprescrption and ciliary spasm release. Taking into account that 30% of 7 diopters is about 2 diopters and then and average improvement of .75 per year for 4 years (though I think he said it is closer to 1 diopter a year, probably because he doesn't really use a cell phone and gets great light) it adds up.

Why is it that your eyes improve faster in the first few weeks ?I am -1.5left -1.75 right and I’m quite new to this jw
Because most are over prescribed.
Ok thanks
Because the eye doctor always gives you more than what you really need. For example if your eye doctor gives you -5 you should probably wear -4.75
