I believe I'm an oak tree in the rock
Even if a storm will hit me
    I will keep standing
When I she'd a tear I plant a tree Sorrow is the soul
And I am nature I believe in mankind
    And in the sky
    I exist in the ocean
    And in the tree
    As long as I live
    I will remember
    Happiness is the people
    For better and ever

I was bless to see him at the same tour in Cyprus that year...I even met the whole band and Avishai himself. What a human being. Full of creativity and spirituality. Thank you Avishai and Co for your creativity and the gift of music you all give to us.

@@DodoDiaz To confuse all music fans beyond the tiny Israeli jazz of the east followers, this percussionist Itamar Doari also plays in Omer Avital's (doublebass & oud) own Yemeni-Moroccan-Israeli-U.S. Jazz combo and composes for and tours with the OTHER AVISHAI COHEN (trumpet) who is part of the 3 Cohens family of Yemeni-Israelis each of whom plays in different touring jazz groups. Anat Cohen is a world class clarinet\composer\improviser\saxophone session player, educator either with her own ensemble or an all-women's global touring outfit called FIVEPLAY PLUS (a quintet that adds 2 more players to septet for some studio\tour projects)
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anat_Cohen
THIS Avishai Cohen (doublebass\composer) was a world class touring musician before the unrelated 3 Cohens came of age and spread their sound beyond Israel. Dear and recently departed piano\composing\arranging maestro, one and only Chick Corea, Z"L who took THIS BASS artist Avishai Cohen on some noteworthy global combo tours, when Avishai Cohen wasn't otherwise booked with his own Israeli and St. Louis jazz combo.
Omer Avital the composing dynamo of Yemeni Israeli Moroccan musical family was in an early Barcelona record label recording combo named 3rd World Love that also featured the OTHER AVISHAI COHEN (of the 3 Cohens family combo) who has his own sound on trumpet, yet blends so well on the eastern jazz and western jazz material with all the artists he came to play with like 3rd World Love for the Barcelona World Jazz label Anzac.
After a time in NYC the apprentice and meeting ground in the West of the Atlantic Jazz World, 3rd World Love evolved into Trumpeter Avishai Cohen's band with an American drummer Daniel Freedman and within a few years Avishai Cohen went further west to the Pacific Rim by gravitating towards the San Francisco Yerba Buena Jazz scene where last I checked he was based. As if 2 Avishai Cohens playing different instruments and composing very different sounding repertoire isn't confusing enough for anyone not familiar with an Israeli or Hebrew phonebook, one ought not lose 3rd World Love and Trumpeter Avishai Cohen ensemble's nimble fingered and rhythmic marvel YONATAN AVISHAI a pianist proving his own sound with every new solo or collaborative project. Last I checked THAT YONATAN AVISHAI is also leading his own combos and doing more New Music or Classically influenced composing projects.

Big time Bassima Rabah, Todah Rabah, Merci Beaucoups, Lotta Grazi, Choukrane & Thank you to Hugo Alexandre Cruz for translating from Hebrew into English the universal spiritual lyrics with Buddhist sway to THIS BASS\COMPOSING\SINGING AVISHAI COHEN's song "Alon Ba'sela\Oak In a Stone" which surely stands on its own even in the wear and tear of elemental weather ever in flux. An Asian cultural lesson from a philosophy with much to teach the volatile Muddle East, Daddy Warbucks bid-net bizness mad western world and even some Buddhist nation-states plugged into the worst and most dehumanizing aspects of Global Neo-CON\Neo-Lib cartelier and investor-networked sea and air-shipped Supply Chains.
All us humans are going to have to find a way to make bio-degradable plastics cuz muses as artifacts on albums will never be made obsolete by digital archives and recording technologies. Personal and institutional library keeping has proven itself too vital to whatever the heck the particulars are of Darwin's broad evolutionary outlines that like an "Alon ba'Sela\Oak in a Stone" hold up better to the wear and tear of geologically paced planetary time.

it's an almost 'dead' language, it has to be sang to exist. It's called Latino or something (not Latin, Latino).

Ladino is the Hebew-Latin-Spanish-Arabic-Tamazight Sepharad (Spain) historical Mediterranean lingo, lit and liturgy that emerged from North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula before the too big Empires and Constantine's Sword atomized and Queen Isabella dispersed Amazigh who were of their own indigenous faith paths or who took on the Judeo-Christian doctrines and philosophies if not developed shared hybrid spiritual rituals that were not part of the interloping faiths.
Like the unique Amazigh (Berber is the vulgar Greek term from Varvaroi\Barbarian for indigenous North Africans where the vast Sahara and sub-Saharan Sahel lunar landscapes down to the lush African savanah developed the earlier alphabet system known as Tifinagh to the various diverse regional forms of spoken and literary indigenous Tamazight) and Sufi Islamic mystical tradition of venerating deceased and beloved ancestors in a kind of Sainthood that was honored by all the faiths in the vast region at the few burial sites where monuments of stone were erected and used for interfaith devotions and inter-communal prayers and celebrations at the sites of these honored souls.

      www.eurasiareview.com/08042020-muslims-and-jews-and-their-timeless-celebration-of-saints-in-morocco-analysis/
There are pockets preserving this hybrid lingo and some mytho-poetic recording artists of note like Yasmin Levy who also branch into pop and theater music & stage (and daughter of a more traditional devotional Ladino cantor):

There are no shortage of modern organic tensions interpenetrating faiths, philosophies and the shared bloodlines, customs, lingo, rituals that bridged the Mediterranean basin across Dark Ages, intermittent Enlightenments and the geological eras of evolving and shifting life forms...Long may we adapt, endure and find causes of shared celebrations.
Health and balance to all Creator's creatures
We can all around this spinning orb build back better...

Nora Gharyéni was born May 8 in Sfax in the south-east of Tunisia. She is a Tunisian/Tamazight music composer, singer-songwriter, and guitarist. She discovered a real passion for arts, humanities, and community life at a young age. Influenced by different musical styles such as Metal, Rock, Blues, and Classic Pop, she has begun making covers of groups in Tamazight, then composing her songs. She sang and played guitar sharing her passion among friends, in high school & university, as part of the activities of cultural associations and in different national and international events.
She has always been passionate about the native culture of North Africa and has chosen to sing in its native language: Tamazight. She discovered a true sense of belonging after knowing and meeting people from all over North Africa who share with her the same culture. Every time was an occasion that has made her feel more connected to her land, more conscious about how she must preserve it, be proud of it, and spread it around the world through music while promoting diversity, tolerance, and human rights.
Besides music, she has a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's student in Occupational Psychology and Ergonomics, an activist in civil society, and editor/ translator in a scientific website.
