It isn't really a lullaby. It's a song by Itzik Manger that tells the story of a little boy who takes pity on a tree that is left all alone leafless in the winter after the birds have abandoned it. He wants to go spend the winter out in the cold with the tree, and turn into a bird. His mother tries to stop him but he insists, so she weighs him down with so much clothing that he cannot lift his "wings." So his mother's love keeps him from learning to fly.
@guytsemah33353 That's not correct, it is the second track on the new album Seven Seas, and called "About a Tree" It's not Avishai's composition, it's an old Yiddish lullaby (Oyfn Veg Shteyt a Boym). He made a most wonderful rendition of it however!
I can't understand this. The full concert with Leolam, About A Tree and all the others was on TH-cam and I saw it again and again. With Karen Malka, light in the drum and everything. If this concert for sale on DVD I would certainly buy it. I love every second! :-) However the more recent shows with trio+big orchestra are also amazing. Perhaps 'About A Tree' will be on the setlist again one day?

@brunocleta Correction - Bach is Avishai Cohen in Classic
The piano part at the beginning reminds me of Chopin's music for some reason..
I'd want to be his pianist just so he'd smile at me with those crazy, expressive faces.. :D
i'd love to have the piano sheets of this..

I can't hear one false note.
I love every track of Avishai, but this performance hmmm... the voices are not really blending here.
Comme d’habitude à Marciac, le piano est pas ou mal accordé 😖
