  • Welcome to slappys garage, this is my first project on the channel coming in with part 3
    On this episode I’m modifying a sportster gas tank to fit a steering dampener off a tr 650. I also make a mounting point for the steering dampener bracket. The goal of this project is to make a Harley sportster into a Dirtbike!!
    There are many ways to go a easier route but I’m building this to before as best as it can as a Dirtbike on a stock Harley chassis.

    that tank might need to be anealed.

    Why didn't you just move the tank back so you didn't have to dent it?

      2 things one is the petcock clearance to the carb would be affected, and 2 I may be changing the seat to a saddleman seat later on and that sits flush to the tank
