Of the 3 sonatas opus 12 this is the most appealing. It’s actually quite exceptional - early Beethoven at his best - engaging, clever, masterful. The pianist is top notch. The violinist is too but I feel she could have been more out going
The first cord and the first theme are in D and as expected the exposition end on A (The dominant). I don't know where are you seeing the first theme being in A.

I think that the variations of the second movement have a similar melody to the variations of the second movement of the great Kreutzer sonata❣️
Theme of second movement has very similar harmony to Beethoven's 12th Sonata op 26 A-flat Major.
And in the Var ii there is a similar building to Beethoven's piano concerto in c minor theme
