"Your performance is ruining my song," "not everyone can write songs" (meaning Ash can't write songs because her boyfriend feels he has to put her down to feel better about himself), etc. And then here comes Moon, thoughtlessly putting her into a box, but also complimenting her talent. Choosing her over her boyfriend. "You're a natural!" Insisting she play her song. And the rest of the singers supporting her. Ash just SHINES after that little bit of decent behavior. It didn't even take that much. She just needed a little support and believing in her and took off. Beautiful.
Also compare it to how empathetic and level headed she is in the second movie, where she has to help Clay come out of his own shell. Ash probably has the most satisfying ongoing arc throughout the two films (I like the others too, but they tend to get their big moment in one particular film, Ash is consistent).

But after rosita and gunter talked to her, she now knows how horrible and loud she was with lance and that she can do better solo. So shes fixing her mistake by making her own song to play infront of moon. She let him listen to her singing, and he was wowed. She now knows that buster moon was trying to help.
Do you think Ash and Porsha were outcasts by their friends and families before joining the Moon Theater Family for being eccentric and for their personalities? It would make them similar to Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zooptoia.

Ash is one of if not THE best character in the first Sing movie! Scarlett Johansson did such a phenomenal job voicing Ash! especially when she sings "Set It All Free" that song is just astounding, in fact i especially love that the song is partly about how Ash's ex was just holding her back from her true talent.

This is my all-time favorite movie. Literally I’ve been watching it since I was little and I just realize that Ash is wearing the same dress as she did when she was performing, but I didn’t see it because of her red jacket so she’s wearing the dress but with a red jacket on.

He was excited to hear her sing it. Lance waited until Becky left, before turning on the TV to watch Ash perform, proud of her, & impressed by how talented she was. Johnny barely noticed the quills flying around him, because he was too preoccupied with his thoughts about his dad not being there. After her performance, Ash asked if the audience was okay, & they answered with cheers & applause. Buster walked out on stage among the cheering from the audience, & called her a genuine rock star.

Scarlett Johansson definitely did a great job in the voice acting. Loved her voice acting since she played Mindy in the SpongeBob Movie and she nailed the voice acting in this film as well as the singing.
Lance was a bad boyfriend and he didn't deserve Ash.

Ash and Rosita are my favorite in this terrific movie. Ash is right and loud and it is sad and unfair how Becky stole her boyfriend and said she was not good. And Rosita is acting cool and my favorite part is about that Rosita was in a supermarket and then dancing in Aisle 6. I still love them both......
