Loved your reaction! 👌 Bruce takes sign requests from the audience of random songs to play in the middle of his shows - it makes for some pretty crazy covers! Got to be such a tight band to be able to do stuff like this on the spot 😆

Greetings from Canada again, eh!! Nothing like live Bruce and the E Street Band (with the E Street Horns AND The E Street Choir) to get the heart pumping and feet moving!! Bruce isn't shy about relinquishing the stage so his band mates can show their skills. That's the "Professor" Roy Bittan on piano, and "The Big Man" Clarence Clemons nephew Jake Clemons on saxophone, keeping the family business going.
At some point I hope you see a video of Bruce and Clarence and the special bond they shared on stage, the love, hijinxs, the music, another reason why Bruce's shows are always special!!
Bruce does play "stump the Band" during shows. Tons of requests, and, they hit it out of the park all the time!!
Keep up the good work, you're reactions are wonderful and at times remind of my youth, I'm 63, when Bruce's songs were so fresh and opening a whole new world to me.

This video fills me with SO much joy, happiness and faith that I weep each time.
    God bless ALL MUSICIANS.
That the trumpet player hits bum notes when put on the spot, just gives me so much faith in humanity.
To err, is to be human!
    God bless ❤️

Un-effing rehearsed. This band is so awesome. You should check out Light of Day live in NYC July 2000

    Lyrics:
It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They furnished off an apartment with a two room Roebuck sale
The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale
But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it blast
Seven hundred little records, all rock, rhythm and jazz
But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
They bought a souped-up jitney, 'twas a cherry red '53
They drove it down to Orleans to celebrate the anniversary
It was there that Pierre was married to the lovely mademoiselle
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

    Great showman. For sure.
    Not unrehearsed though.
Nothing is unrehearsed on the big stage. Sorry fans.
    Saw him many times.
Hes been doing the pretend spontaneity thing since the 70s.
Every tour they rehearse a bunch of obscure oldie songs and pull different ones out. Usually towards the end. Sometimes requested by a "randum" fan. Lol. Ok.
They are not doing a song infront of 80,000 that they dont know. That would be on video forever? Uh....no.
Real world ego folks. Its an act.
Hmmm. Hes a multi multi millionaire selling the everyman routine.
Jesus is the boss. The Truth. Died for us. For free.
    Cheers!

You gave it away at the end. You're just a hater, who doesn't like Bruce's politics. Go away.

Evidently someone who's very jealous of musicians that are able to improvise and who seems to forget that Bruce started off playing gigs in pubs and bars where he and his band would've played anything that was requested. Sure, the band may have played the song once or twice in the past but they don't rehearse a song that they randomly pull from the crowd.
He played his Glastonbury headline show in 2009 by shouting the next song to the band as he went, actually messed up the BBC's subtitle saying the song name because he didn't play to the setlist (th-cam.com/video/1ke50k-2So4/w-d-xo.html).
Many musicians wouldn't play songs spontaneously in case they mess up but Bruce isn't one of them, he sometimes makes mistakes but he and his fans just laugh them off, it's part of the fun and it's what makes his shows very different from ones with perfectly timed lighting, setlists set in stone and everything choreographed down to the second. He's much more dynamic and able to adapt to suit any particular audience on any particular night.
