Would love to hear some of your work (speakers) . People that have head phones and good stereo can hear the difference between speakers and systems. Thank you

Is that the Illuminator 4” mid driver?
How is the detail on that? Or is it too smooth?
Great channel, would love to see more content!

Beatiful work as usual. Satori specifies sensitivity of 95dB(2.8V/1m) without waveguide. Instead of placing it in waveguide and having to add quite a bit of resistor padding back to achieve around 93dB sensitivity, wouldn't it make more sense to just use this tweeter without waveguide even though one would lose directivity control, etc?

The sensitivity is limited by the 10kHz region where the waveguide has no affect. The resistors are for level matching to a typical woofer, however it also served to reduce amplifier noise so that I could conduct the IMD test. The capacitor is what flattens the response and attenuates the affect of the waveguide, reducing distortion in the critical region near the FS of the tweeter, preventing distortion from modulating up into the higher frequencies.

@@JosephCrowesDIYSpeakerBuildinghi Joseph, how good is this beryllium tweeter compared to other beryllium in market.

Does the textreme version better than beryllium version?

I’m not sure. Textreme is a very new material and I’ve only tested a 5” midrange and a compression driver. Both are very good.

Something is wrong with your measurement method.
The tweeter has a measured almost perfectly linear frequency response. Take a look at the measurements from users and do-it-yourself magazines on the net.

There’s nothing wrong with my measurements. This tweeter is mounted to a waveguide which loads the driver down to 1.5kHz. You are seeing the influence of the waveguide.

@@JosephCrowesDIYSpeakerBuilding Ok, I understood that the first measurement was made without a horn.
