Looking at the staff, so many former gainax veterans are working on this, that alone really caught my attention, gainax and gundam coming together was never something I would see happen.

It's happened twice before though. Anno and other Gainax employees got subcontracted to do animation work on Char's Counterattack and Hiroyuki Yamaga came up with both the original concept and screenplay for 0080.

yeah, they kind of moving forward from the classic look, for a fresh & modern look. this might make them lose some fans, but indeed mobile suit has to change at some point since it were a piece of technology.
i do agree with @katelawyer3689 it kinda look like barbatos, just maybe barbatos is a stepping stone for more 'fresh' mobile suits in the future, while it makes sense because slimmer & smaller mobile suit should perform better on earth (or similiar planet) gravity for mobility

there were leaks that tell this is set in an Alternate UC, with Char capturing the Gundam, painted it Red and using it in the OYW. During the battle of Solomon there was a Psycommu Incident that destroyed most of Solomon and Char & the Gundam disappeared after that.
Later a Red MS was seen in the Colony where Amate lives.
In the trailer there was a scene with Red Funnels attacking the GQuuuuuux and those said Funnels belonged to the Red Gundam in the art that was also leaked.
I saw that leak too! So an entire generation of Feddie MS designs get wiped from existence and we get to see how the Gundam-derived MS's would look if they were developed further by zeon instead.
And those funnels closely resemble an existing funnel in UC. Can't remember which one they're from.
@@SoulstrikerV Its resembles the Elmeth's Bits (Lalah's MA) and was one of the first funnel type weapons used so it lines up with OYW setting.
I feel like that's just going to confuse a lot of people, we never seen an alternative universe timeline in the universal century timeline.

Yeah. It allows Bandai to gauge the hype of a show which allows them to map out the long term prospects of said show. It would also be bad if the show aired and collectors couldn't get hold of the kits.

They under estimated Witch from Mercury's merch demand before that series started, so there were shortages even in Japan. Post pandemic supply chain issues may have played a role too, but the show started in 2022.

I have seen a digital recouour in grey and black with yellow highlights and it looked much cleaner.
In the gunpla discord, people were throwing around photos with different color schemes and yeah, pretty much OG Gundam colors are it's biggest drawback
@@rockblockstudio It does not use the Og gundams coloured though. It has way to many different colours. It has red, orange, yellow, violet, 2 shades of blue, multiple shades of grey and then the green and pourple camera bits. It is too much. OG Gramps had 5 colours if you include the frame and backpack grey and thats it.
@@zafranorbian757 red, white, blue and whatever yellow-orange they want. It uses the main Gundam colors. Maybe saying OG was my mistake, but it’s using the conventional Gundam colors. Regardless, the color scheme is still the biggest drawback imo

I like the GQuack design a lot. It doesn't scream "Gundam" but it does look like what it's supposed to be: an underground sport fighting machine.
This isn't some decisive strategic weapon developed at a top-secret government black site to turn the tide of a war, this is a custom street racing car built with hope and superglue in someone's garage. It's jank, it's slapped-together, it looks unfinished because it has no armor (doesn't need it), but it's got bright, busy colors scattered slapdash all over it because by god does it have heart and soul and just enough frame strength to carry its pilot's dreams and not fall apart from the shaking of the massive jet engines they crammed up into its legs.
It's something we haven't ever seen before in Gundam. Even Gundams like Aerial and the Shining Gundam -- other Gundams built for "fighting" and not "combat" -- didn't really have that "home-grown underdog" feel to them. This one has a little puppy face on it because its pilot is part of "Team Pomeranian". It's new, it's fresh, and it's not gonna be to everyone's tastes, but it is going to be unique no matter what happens.

The site specifically calls it a "mysterious state of the art mobile suit" tho. I'm betting it's gonna turn out to be a stolen gundam or something along those lines.
LMFAO something "underground sport fighting" should actually looks a lot less flashy than the typical war weapon gundam, that if you actually know anything about "underground" stuffs in real life, be it musics, cars, bikes, etc. Cause most of them fix and make things out of junks and modified spare parts. That g-cuck design screams fashion products instead of money-less under the radar fight machine
Here's what I have seen:
This is an Alternate Universe of the UC era where Char stole a mobile armor Gundam, rebranding it as the Red Gundam and has Principality of Zeon win the war. This is 5 years after Neo Zeon won.
The GQuuuuuuX is the main Mobile Suit of the new show. The head has a sliding gimmick for the V-Fin to slide up to expose the twin-eyes for a Gundam. The lower part of the head can also open like a jaw (similar to an Eva) which may be to cool the internal systems to prevent overheating.
What I got from these sources (wiki and reddit) is that the GQuuuuuuX (as my friend said, the Eva Gundam) might be a Gundam in disguise based off of the og "Red Gundam". The MC may be a newtype on the same level as Char and perform the needed skills to bring out the full performance. I like to think that if it does have a mouth design, it can go berserk if she gets pushed over the limit and use the jaw like an animal.

You'd think so, but as Mecha pointed out the merch doesn't actually call it a Gundam. G-Self's merch, at least the HG, did.
I'm not a fan of the design because it looks nothing like what an actual gundam is supposed to look like.... It's like if an alien built a concept of what a gundam looks like but in their own alien vision because it's very out there....But with such an experienced team behind the project it really makes me hope that this is going to be really good.
I'm surprised they didn't brought Ippei Gyoubu into this.
I heard he is busy with urdr hunt which is understandable but it felt like a huge Miss opportunity because the artstyle is really fit Ippei Gyoubu
I always loved the idea that a Gundam was supposed to be almost a living mech. The Gundams in Wing especially often hint at an intelligence or even spiritual nature. A ghost in the machine if you will. That being said, mixing Eva and Gundams together in that context is a perfects idea. I would layer them with a mechanical inner frame, an “organic muscle system over that (like the eva’s” and than Gundam armor to finish it off.
This would be great for a toy line especially, since each Eva-Gundam could swap G-armor like a knight and you get multiple gundams off of the same internal unit.
I hope they don’t over do it on the CGI/ 3d animation

Quick note: the addon wings set for Entry Grade F00 is NOT THE SAME as what comes in the all-in-one release. Its much less detailed and less intricate (sub arms are one solid molded piece in the addon).
And remember y'all, the main mobile suit isn't a Gundam!
Honestly, I am not feeling this series from all sides, crew, mecha design, and animation. And also if the leaks are true on what Universe this is in. But i watch the first couple of episodes to see if that changes.

Aside from the EG RX7800/E and the compatible wings. There is a non grade 1/144 scale which has the gundam and the wings together but more expensive than the EG + Wings add-on.

I liked how the "feet" is essentially landing skits attached to the side of what is also essentially an engine/thruster for a leg. I think im generally ok with this design except the binders.
I just hope the kit has good stickers considering it looks like it'll have a shit ton of them.

While everyone rightfully geeks out over the new series, I want to say that the new new armor pack for the F00 Grandpa kinda looks like it was retrofitted with Psycho Frame.

The GQuuuux seems like a Gundam that has scrap hastily put onto it in order for Machu to go underground fighting. I wonder if we'd ever get a GQuuux origin (or perfect form). This suit gives me Astaroth vibe with the out-of-place armaments such as the heat hawk and the arm shield.
There is some info floating about that the show is based in a What i Char won universe and the images seen in that clearly show the GQX in a much more traditional Gundam paint scheme and with less frills. There is also a red Char one.
GQuacks the machine definitely looks like a "pre-evolution" version of a Gundam to me. I'm expecting we'll see a rebuild or successor suit in the show that adds some more Gundam features (and a gold v-fin, calling it now).
Personally I'm into the unorthodox design, particularly the platform boot/racing prosthetic fusion going on in legs and feet. The wing (jetpack?) things throw me off a bit, but seeing it in motion should help my brain parse it, it seems like the kind of thing that is difficult to capture in a static image.
I actually don't like the main Gundam, but some of the other ones are cool looking

I want to like the design, but it looks so busy, which makes it forgettable. Many designers have forgotten how important silhouettes are in design. This silhouette just reads like a typical mech.

My take on the GQuacks based on the leaked synopsis being in an Alt-UC timeline. Since Zeon won in this timeline, and Gramps was captured, GQuacks is not a gundam. I think the main MS antagonist is a Gundam made by EFF remnants wanting to restore Earth Federation.
But that's just my theory.
Between the plot leaks and the EVA dream team working on this, this is easily the most excited I've ever been for an AU Gundam series, LFGGGG.

The design of the gquuux is really interesting.
The only part I'm not too confident about are the foot.

There've been plenty of what ifs that weren't animated, but thunderbolt would be the first one.
@@PeashamI don’t know that I’d called Thunderbolt a what if cause it doesn’t entirely change the OYW. The events of the show and manga can exist with the original events. I’d say Thunderbolt is more of a non-canon side story like Beltorchika’s Children or Gaia Gear. And Quacks is a what if.
@AsherReigns Considering mobile suits from Zeta and beyond show up way earlier than they should in Thunderbolt, no, they couldn't. Children is also explicitly a what if, specifically what if Amuro never broke up with Belt, and considering Gaia takes places in the far future, it doesn't actually contradict anything, so it's the only one that could be canon.
Origin is kinda a what if. The anime covers only Char's backstory but the manga has a bunch of differences from the 79 anime, like there's multiple Guncannon's on White Base, Sleggar appears earlier etc.

In addition to the Gquuuux, Im super excited about that new entry grade lol! I’ve debated paying $40 for the high grade because i love its proportions.
It's basically a Gundam G in UC alternative history, a underground fight with a street thugs that could possible targeted by the police force, that Zaku Police suits could be the proof the victory of Zeon history

@@loiedonn4192 Yeah because tomino is fucking insane. G reco is his Foley. The guy has always been hit or miss. Really strong career in the 70s and 80s. The 90s were a disaster for him. He came back and made Turn A which is incredible and my personal favorite AU Gundam. But after that he has made anything good in almost 30 years
Not a fan of the character designs. they don't meld with the MS design animations. If they used Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's style then it might be more palatable to me.
How much is Anno involved? Who designed the GQuux? Are these things we still don’t know? I really want that figure. Eva is my fave and i like gundam a lot. Dream come true and I’d love to have something from the series if Anno was really as involved as people are making it out to seem. I love the design

I’ve seen a couple of rumours on gundam forums, not going to spoil anything, and it’s all speculation anyway, but it seems a bit of a ”what if” series and that’s really interesting if true.
For anyone who hasn't seen it, there is a video on the gundam info page where they have a short conference about the anime, the merch, and the expo pavilion for next year. They show off a completed version of the new kit in a close-up so you can see all the detail, what's colour accurate, and what isn't.
@10:38 I can already see those yellow and red stripes being a color correcting sticker or sticker decals. those blacks on its wrist too. the white and orange on its elbow.
I also see some AMAIM in the design of the gquuuuuux, with the knees, elbows, & ankles.
I'm a bit worried it's going too far from roots of Gundam. But the design is obviously Evangelion vibe and I like both so I won't complaint - preordered from your link. :) Will it be on Crunchyroll?

Definitely a unique take on gunpla plus it seems the main mobile suit is loaded with stuff which is very nice.
I hate the Gundam design but I like the zakus design , The zaku has withstand the test of time while Gundams come and go the zaku will always be there, seek zeon

As this is being made in collaboration with the Evangelion studio, I consider that this project has all the ingredients to make an amazing Gundam series. Let’s wait and see what they cook with those ingredients.

From what's implied in the trailer a Mav is like a supporter whether from outside or inside the Mobile Suit, or dual piloting. This is just my theory. Additionally the clan battles/duels like in Build Fighters or WFM, etc.
I wanted to scream like a fangirl yesterday night, but instead i tried to stay as much silent as possible (I live in Italy, so the PV came out at 2:00 AM, when you posted the building video of the Zeus Destiny).

Honestly I hate it. The design is busy as f*. I also hate the style of the characters, which I feel like are legitimate gripes, but anyone I try to talk to about this just treats me like I'm being a curmudgeon old person...
I mean the problem with complaining about both of those things is we don't have context for the show, Gundam's always changes character design to fit the context of what the series was going for, and in context this might be great.
