Need a little correction - Fa hein saw the palace of Chandragupta 2nd (Gupta Dynasty 4-6 AD) and not of Ashoka (Maurya dynasty 321 BC-184 BC)
(Please correct me if I'm wrong tho )
Fa Hein visited during Chandragupta 2 but he said the quote about Ashoka's palace, which was still there after Ashoka's death 😊

When Fa Hein came to India during the 4th AD , it was ruled by Gupta Emperor Chandragupta 2 not Ashoka.
i guess ashoka's palace had survived
@@kushal4956 not really, Patliputra was the capital of different empires for 1500 years. Present day bihar region is known for earthquakes and flooding so even if Maurya period structures were present after its fall 550 years ago then they must be in ruins. Stone structures last longer , that's why sanchi stupa still survived.

Fa Hien was a mad man. I read about him in detail when I was a little boy. He was totally opposite of the good oriental philosophers abd travellers. He travelled to many universities and holy places of India but learnt nothing there. He was also self obsessed and filled with animosity and hatred for India plus other powers of that era. He is one of the biggest bad inspirations for modern Chinese people and CCP workers plus top brass. He was only focussed on China and the growth of the Chinese people much like the temporal Pak state. There were no ideologies which inspired him. Those who don't know about him, he is the same as Fahiyan in Hindi.

I think Fa Hien came during the reign of Chandragupta the magnificent. And Ashoka died before 500 years ago. How did his palace exist that time.
