These will also detect leaks from gasses such as r22, r410a etc. due to the small amount of methane in these gasses. I have one and tested on microleaks and it does the job.

R22 does not contain any methane. The chemical formula is CHClF2, consisting of one carbon atom, one chlorine atom, and two fluorine atoms. Methane (CH4) is a different compound entirely.
