Critques from an ace main here. ill also list my build and general playstyle.
Field upgrades: White hack speed increase. Green Ammo. Blue intel increase. Purple social. Gold exfiltrate.
Build: Kings diamond. Expertise Vunerable. Passive Bonus damage.
Strengths: dominate long range play. Strongest burst potential. strong combat expertise with vulnerability.
Weaknesses: extremely low TTK without burst setup compared to other agents. difficult close range fighting. Ammo hungry.
Gadgets: Bounce pad. Drone (drone is especially important and in my opinion is a must pick gadget on ace.)
Playstyle: I focus on my white and green buffs first. I never speed run with this character. Shes far harder to pull off in close range and assuming both sides land all shots ull likely lose. Green buff on kings diamond give me a max ammo of 20 shots which is more then enough to wipe a 3 man team. I only go for vaults if i see a really good opportunity to or if i kno the coast is clear for it. If i do get vaults and key cards then i go for breifcase if not i let them bring it to me. Ace is likely one of the strongest agents with breifcase since she can take advantage of the wall hacks at extreme ranges. However i have found a spot on just about every map that can cover all the extraction points giving u a high up long angle to snipe players carrying the case. Ull need a bounce pad to access some of them reliably on demand. Once my ammo is figured out i take a high grouind with a lot of sight lines around. Then i drone out enemies. Drone lets you shot through tree lines far easier. Line up shots from around corners and even snipe ppl outside of render distance. An incredible tool u really should be taking since ace can take the most advantage of it. Play her slow get ur ammo good. if u see a vault to take then go for breifcase and dominate. if not stay up high drone around and only take long range fights. ur at a disadvantage up close. If u get jumped on as ace u r likely to lose that fight assuming their on ur skill level. So get good at being stealthy and playing it slow. This character is not larcin who has a get out of jail free card and can speed run as fast as you want. dont get caught out.

@@BlackTalonC oh also wanna point out rq. the optimal burst damage combo for ace is to scope in on the head. then press F for the vunerable this will unscope BUT FOR SOME REASON does not cancel your charge. Just press F then immediately shoot and ur shot will land right where u scoped so u gotta be quick with ur fingers. But yeah u get that kings diamond head shot damage with the vunerable bonus With the passive bonus. if anyone so much as breathes on them they die. ive had enemies die to guards with this combo. its brutal. Ive one shotted quite a few ppl and im not sure how much damage it does. But i think it might actually do 100 damage? I need to kno how to get damage numbers in this game cus most of the time ppl just die instantly.

Here's a neat tip: Cover shield will negate headshots! So If you're opening a shot on someone in disguise, shoot center mass! Last thing you want is to miss you're golden opportunity to do free damage, as without this upfront opener, you'll find yourself hard pressed on winning fights against capable opponents.

I heard about that, good to know I should avoid opening my shot with headshot. Though I've had a few games where headshot in cover killed. I think that may ahve been in team games against a weaken opponent.

@@BlackTalonC personally, I've been changing my gadgets depending on who i play - I main Squire, and I find the basic blend of Spyglass for easy hacking and Turret for "oh shit" moments to be quite powerful, given his ability to lock down keycards and save his Intel for when he really needs it. But on Xiu, I take a more wily set of prop disguise and Tripwire, to cover myself and make sure I know who's where in any room I happen to be in xP

I've only been playing Deceive Inc for a day playing only Ace exclusively on the Teams queue (about 4.8 hours at the time of this comment) and I can say that she has a place here (not sure about Solos, just doesn't seem right). My opinions will be based on what I've seen so far playing 3-man stacks with my friends.
    My current build:
    Field upgrades (Common-Vault): Expertise-Intel-Ammo-Social-Health
Weapon: Jack of Diamonds (King still locked)
Expertise: Stacked Odds (Big Blind still locked)
Passive: Crippling Shot (Cover Flush still locked)
Gadgets: Bounce pad + Spyglass (Level 10)
I honestly think that Snipers aren't exactly great for this pace of game because agents like Larcin/Squire/Cavalier can speedrun vaults and tracking abilities don't feel too great in matches. For this reason I would lean more towards using Jack of Diamonds 90% of the time (haven't unlocked King of Diamonds). My build is a mid-range skirmisher with combat and mobility in mind. My early gameplan usually revolves around opening a Vault as soon as possible to 1. get my ammo upgrade 2. get access to ammo stations 3. open the purple door if intel is sufficient and 4. gain purple/vault upgrades if available. Gadgets allow you to navigate around the map while maximizing time efficiency (Bounce pad allows you to take high ground and skip stairs, Spyglass lets you sweep a room out of Intel while staying on the move).
In terms of Passive abilities, I think 99% of the time you want to take Diamond's Bet. It works with all weapons, and lets you hone in on the marksmanship playstyle that Ace is associated with. I just think that in fights where you get to shoot the first shot, Crippling Shot in an open area just confirms a kill for your team. Cover Flush seems redundant because landing shots on opponents breaks their Cover anyway, but I will need to learn more about the Exposed debuff duration before recommending it.
For Expertise abilities, I wanted to like Queen's Gaze, but I found that unless you're super coordinated with your teammates + you have good reads on enemy behavior, it's hard to get great payoffs on the tracking because its duration doesn't let you size up your opponents before taking them out. I think that whether or not Big Blind will be good will heavily depend on the cast range of the ability, since being able to expose a large radius from far on high seems powerful, but I have yet to test the ability. For this reason, Stacked Odds is great for enabling fast kills onto lone targets. What HonkBrother said in another comment is doubly true in a Teams setting. The only issue I have with it is the scoped requirement to activate the ability. Having to scope into an enemy mid-fight to apply Vulnerable status is clunky. That being said about scopes...
Deceive Inc has very forgiving gunplay elements compared to other shooters. This is truly a hitscan game, which means that as long as the dot on your screen when unscoped is on your target and you shoot, it will always land, regardless of whether or not you are running or jumping. For this reason, I like to run Jack of Diamonds to take mid-to-short range skirmishes where I am unscoped for most of the duration. I will only scope in on an opponent if I have the initiative to attack first. Aside from that, you are still using a marksman weapon, so you can use bounce pads to take high ground and take potshots at enemies. We are still pretty early in the game's meta, so most players are using their Cover to look behind them most of the time, and not above them. Ace will take advantage of this player behavior in the mean time.
Any and all tips/feedback are appreciated

Wiring an area and waiting for someone to step into one lets you get a headshot. I dont play ace, but this is what I do with some other agents and is perfect for ace (I think).

Jack is between king and king because the title refers to their power. Queen is standard, Jack is a downgrade (in exchange for more adaptability) and king is the heavy slugger

This game is not that good i mean a charged shot with ace should leave teh target with 20hp. shouldnt take 3 charged shots to kill someone. i mean irt gives time for another player to come get u when u shootign at someone that loves jumping around

    • @BlackTalonC
      @BlackTalonC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

There are some quirks to it for sure. I think it definitely motivates a different playstyle which i like. There are so many TDM/royale/Shooter games out there that make people focus on just taking down other players, so i like the fact that this game rewards those who are strategic in their takedowns and aware of their surroundings instead of making it just another pvp shooter.
