I like the idea of someone watching a shitload of these literally me Bocchi edits and then going and watching the actual show and being surprised it’s a comedy because of how convincing these vids are of making it seem like Bocchi the Rock has the same vibes as Drive or 2049
Bocchi is literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like her. There is no way you can convince me that I’m not Bocchi. Bocchi could not possibly be any more me. It’s me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me about this not possibly being me, I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that Bocchi was me. Bocchi is absolutely me; it is indisputable. Why anyone would try to argue that Bocchi is not me is beyond me. If you held two pictures of me and Bocchi side by side, you’d see no difference. I can safely look at Bocchi every day and say, “Yup, she’s me.” I can practically see Bocchi whenever I look at myself in the mirror. I go outside, and people stop me from commenting on how similar I look and act as Bocchi is. I chuckle softly as I’m assured every day Bocchi is me in every way. I can smile each time I get out of bed each morning, knowing that I’ve found my identity with Bocchi and I know my place in this world. It’s amusing how similar she is to me; it’s almost like identical twins. When I first saw Bocchi, I had an existential crisis. What it Bocchi was the real me and I was the fictional being? What if she actually became aware of my existence? Did she have the ability to become self-aware?

For those who were never able to tell because of these edits, Bocchi The Rock is actually just a super realistic comedy about an introvert living life and joining a band because they like rock music. That's the whole plot, it's not sad or serious beyond occasional moments (but those moments hit hard af ngl).

Otherwise you aren't really Bocchi. It's a really bad anxiety fucking up your whole life.

Introverts make up 25-40% of all the roughly 8 billion people on earth, and you just casually assumed that what you have seen so far accounts for all of them. Nearly 30% of the over 4 billion adults on Earth have anxiety disorders, and you just assumed that your own experiences were the same for all of them. I am an introvert, to a very extreme degree. I also have an anxiety disorder. I also want to socialize and be popular, and experience a massive amount of stress because of the anxiety of doing new things and being around people, a lot like Bocchi. None of these are contradicting, you just think they are. An introvert is simply a person who cares more for their own internal thoughts than external stimuli, seen in Bocchi's many "off in another world in her head" bits. A person with an anxiety disorder feels abnormally large amounts of distress for situations that normally wouldn't call for it, seen almost constantly in the anime (especially when Bocchi tries to gives herself a cold to avoid work). You can still be both and want to be a popular person, just as I and this fictional character do. I love staying in my little room and developing my philosophies and understandings, but there's no better feeling to me than being with my friends and doing something at least a little crazy, especially when I'm complimented for the things I'm good at. I always hate it when people don't just Google what the things they're talking about are. That's all I did for this whole post, just did a few quick Google searches for definitions and statistics, and even then I was able to refine my understanding of the things I was talking about further than they were before.
